The little creature was relentless. It stayed by my side, his little clawed paw clinging to my pants that even my ice cold heart thawed a little at the sight. "Fine," I mumble, glaring down at it a moment before I pick it up, desperately ignoring how the movement cause my body to scream in agony. Breathing through the pain I hold the little beast to my chest, greedily soaking up its warmth.

Around us he air had turned thick, dark, and I step in closer to Mouse- the super fucking big winged creature that had taken a liking to me. Maybe it felt pity for me and the pathetic way I held myself. The bruises that painted my cheeks purple, and the skin under my eyes black. Or maybe it had been impressed that despite how pathetic I look I had still manage to whack it on the head with my frozen wooden stick. At first I was sure it was going to rip my head off with his terrifyingly wrap and large beak.

But instead it had stopped its attack and just stared at me, head tilted in a predatory way as it studied me.

And then it had noted fucking Wren Jr.- named after my brother who was also small and so damned needy- and the way he hid behind me as though I was his saviour, and I started wondering which one of us was the biggest fool.

And when Mouse has stretched its long feather neck towards me I was sure that that was it, but then he had nuzzled the small beast army ankle before pressing his beak into my hand as I sign of acceptance?? I wasn't quite sure but I wasn't about to turn him down, cause I may be a idiot and I may have had all my common sense knocked straight out of me... But I knew I wouldn't survive this on my own. Especially not in my condition, which if I was being honest with myself, was pretty shit.

A sound in the distance has Mouse growling in warning and I turn my gaze towards the thicken darkness.

"Come on out," I croon into the dark. "I don't bite, though I cannot say the same about my friend-" friend? Sure, I'll work with that for the moment- "Here."
