The world had gone dark. I couldn't recall what happened the moment Xov's cannon had fired and the world had announced me winner of the 96th hunger games. I do, however, recall demanding that Mouse comes with me. I remember that clearly, I also remember how the grumpy old Fowl had refused to leave my side. But everything else was a blur. Hell, I wasn't even sure I was alive. I remember that blood was everywhere, mine, Xovs, Lucky's, Hals... It stained my skin, my uniform and my soul- my soul? Ha! I must be dead if I am making woe is me soul jokes.

Suddenly fingers peel back my eyelid, and a blinding light is shone into it. "Duuude," I gasp, my voice scraping against the back of my throat like sandpaper. Suddenly a face appears over me, the edges blurred as I blink slowly. Everything was so fucking bright. I cringe, my face scrunching up tightly as I the blinding lights ducked in and out of vision as the figure before me shifted position.

I notice their hair first. It's white, forming a halo around their face. It was familiar so damned familiar, and for one fleeting moment my heart begins to race, my fingers reaching out to brush along the blonde locks. Felicity. A grin pulls back my lips and then my vision clears.

Oh.

My hand falls to my side, my grin slipping momentarily as I pull myself together, gather my thoughts, and get my bearings. "Lysander Mae," I say as I push myself into a seated position, kicking my legs off the edge of the bed. The doctor moves around me, examining my body, poking me here, prodding me there. "Aren't I a lucky a guy for such a beautiful welcome back to the land of the living party." The doctor hands me a white shirt and I shrug it on, slipping from the table. "Soooo, how does it feel to finally bring home an alive one? Must be exciting. Oh and I guess it helps that I am just so damned charming- and handsome too," I throw her a wink.
