Discerning the Transmundane [Serelis x Jupiter]

Sera tries lamely to shoot and arrow into a nearby target.

Sera hopes to look more out of her depth to the other Tributes than she actually is, but the truth was she probably couldn't have hit the target, anyways.

But that just makes it more believable!

Maybe she could try to suck at the camouflage station next. The Careers had to be observing their competition. It was easy to fool people when you just showed them what they wanted to see.

Sera misses the target again.

"Shit!"

Jupiter's never been one to get up close and personal without previous cause. In both life and training he prefers his distance, sulking in the shadows from a safer distance, gaze intent on whatever target he chose, knife in hand and fangs at the ready.

It's the approach he's taken for each day in the Training Center since he's arrived, much to the dismay of the District One tribute team. It'd been the third night of them trying to force him from the nest, plummeting into social interactions one way or another. He'd cut his losses if only to be able to get to sleep at a reasonable time, instead of being pent up in the living room of the suite, forced to watch his lacking social interactions and chastised about how poor of a job he was doing at connecting with the citizens.

It's now two days later and he hates that, in some way shape and form they had been right. Unzipped lips and venom wiped from tongue, he's spent the moments in-between training weaving in and out of tribute conversations for no other purpose than understanding what he was up against, who he could take, who he couldn't. 

Even the weakest couldn't be fully ruled out- he'd been around long enough with eyes glued to the District One screens to know that an upset could come from anyone at any time, a knife in the eye or an axe to the skull and a tribute goes from fan favorite to coffin filling. It's why he stands just a short distance away from the girl from Three, watching her struggle to notch and fire the bow that, from this angle, looks even bigger than she is.

Bows weren't much in his wheelhouse, either.
"Should try a knife." 

There's a metallic screech, metal on metal, as he swipes two throwing knives from the table, extending one as a not-so-peaceful offering to his fellow tribute. "Doesn't seem like the bow is your style. But if you want to keep distance, these babies know how to do the trick." Jupiter leads by hollow example, flicking his wrist and sending the knife flying into the chest of the training dummy across the range. He lets his gaze settle on the sight for a moment, before turning back towards Sera.

"If these don't work, you'll have to get a lot closer." A fact, then a warning. 

"You don't want to do that."
