Ekram's fingers roll along with the marble beneath them. Seraphina Keoch sits on one screen, surrounded by art, and Jupiter Graves sits on the other, surrounded by sand. They're separated by no more than a ten-minute walk in the arena's heat. He could make them go through the beating sun, press a few buttons, and force them to converge on each other in the dry heat. But he, along with Lauren and Artemie, prefers the way, the tension. Plus, the arena's finale isn't ready, yet.

Ekram consults the aesthetics and art team through the morning, watching the stage rebirth itself into an evolved glory. Once ravaged by twenty-four, well, no–eleven– tributes, the mainstage has gone through an immense amount of maintenance to find itself fully repaired. Curtains, floorboards, and stage markers have been restored, and perhaps more importantly, the animatronic Headliners have undergone massive changes. Dream Haunters no more. The banners, signs, and merchandise stands have been refurbished and restocked. Even the festival's canopy has shifted into golden silk with streaks of red spilling from its edges. They've rebranded with their new hit metal album: The Crown of Blood.

The crowd that the Headliners expect is few: two. Two chairs rest on either side of the General Admissions pit.

Embroidered onto each is the name of a finalist: Jupiter Graves, Sera Keoch.

The Crown of Blood will only grace the head of one.

It's time. The victor must be crowned.
