Appearance: Hawke stands at around 6 feet 2 inches in height, just a little taller than his older brother. He has Olive skin that has been softly tanned from the sun and the same deep brown curls as his mother, that he refuses to cut. He has deep brown eyes that he inherited from his father and a smattering of freckles along his shoulders from repeated sunburn.
Hawke is slightly underweight, weighing around 130 lbs with a slightly toned muscular build. His hands are calloused and scared from years of working on his family's farm, especially with the horses although it has gained him an amazing upper body strength. Most of his clothing is hand-me-downs from his older brother or father and usually don't fit his body too well, the fabric either being too long or too short. His favorite item though is the white cowboy hat his father left behind after his passing.
Personality/Attributes: Hawke isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, especially when it comes to anything not animal related. He spends most of his days with horses and cattle that he has named each individual animal and is able to identify them. His whole life revolves around his work and it's his goal to make sure every animal is given a good life before it is humanely slaughtered. He's not good at math and isn't particularly good at reading or writing but those aren't skills he believes he needs to be good at his work. He is incredibly hard working and spends every possible moment making sure his cattle and horses are in perfect condition.
Although Hawke is rather dim, he has a heart of gold and tries to see the very best in everyone he meets, from his neighbors in the district to the peacekeepers, he believes everyone has some form of kindness in their heart and that he can help it come out by being kind in return.
History: Hawke was born the youngest son of the Klein family, his mother, Lorelai had quite a complicated birth with him and was bedridden for a number of weeks afterwards. Hawke was born small and for a while they were not sure if he would thrive in the harsh environment of district 10.
By the time Hawke was 8 he showed great promise in his talents of horse riding and animal husbandry as he followed his father and brother around on the farm constantly, so when his father passed away just after Hawke turned 10, he instantly took over the chores. There have been numerous times where the family fell on hard times and had to go hungry, but with the hard work of her boys, Lorelai was able to keep her small family afloat.
When Hawke was 15, Aspen left home after marrying a local farmer's daughter so the responsibility of taking care of the farm fell solely onto Hawke. He had to learn to balance his school life with his work and for a while, he wasn't sure he would be able to take on both. After a lot of hard work, Hawke was able to finish school and start focusing solely on his work.
When Hawke was 17, Lorelai was involved in an accident that permanently crippled her leg, so Hawke’s already busy work schedule doubled. Although his life was solely run by his work, he never seemed sad about it. His animals started to seem like his friends, he started to enjoy his work like it was just another hobby. He’s spending his days trying to keep his nose clean and stay unnoticed. He only has one more year to avoid the games.
