Appearance: Sirena inherited her mothers long legs, making her a lovely 5 foot and 10 inches in height and weighs a lithe 110lbs. She has shoulder length ginger hair that stands out against her pale, freckled complexion that makes her soft gray eyes shine. She has a very small scar on her upper lip from when she was a child although it's hidden pretty well in the curve of her smile.
She has a habit of wearing dresses that she can tie up when she needs to go into the ocean, although she is always careful not to ruin her clothes. She’s usually seen barefoot as she finds the feeling of the sand on her skin comforting.
Personality/attributes: Sirena is a reserved young woman, she has a hard time forming friendships and often keeps to herself, this isnt due to her being rude or brash, she just views friendships as unsafe until she ages out of the reaping. She has a very artistic soul and uses her spare time to make jewelry out of misshapen pearls and fishing wire to sell to other people in town or peacekeepers looking for cheap gifts.
For someone who grew up in the district known for fishing, Sirena dosent much enjoy it, she prefers swimming in the shallower water to collect shellfish since she finds the water incredibly peaceful when she dosent feel as though she has to put in alot of effort to stay afloat.
She is a rather intelligent girl and spends alot of time reading, believing knowledge to be a key component of survival. Whenever her brother invites her down to the shore she’ll often just sit close by and read while her brother works.
History: Sirena was born as the eldest child to Coral and Marlin Hitch and was their entire world while she was young. She has fond memories of spending long days combing the beach with her mother or learning the different times of fish with her father. She was even excited to become a big sister when Minnow came along, as the two were only about 3 years apart.
As she aged she was incredibly close with her brother, spending most of her time with him in the home. They spent various days building little castles in the sand or collecting different colored seashells to see which ones their mother would like best. Life was simple for her as a child, that is till she started school. She began to learn how scary life truly was, every year that passed was a year closer to her name being put into the reaping.
Sirena didnt make many friends in school, seeming to understand that it was risky to be close to someone you could potentially lose. She wasn't inherently unpopular, she was just careful not to let her guard down enough to truly fear losing anyone who wasnt her brother.
