This is the thread where I will post my latest fanfiction. Feel free to read, review, criticize. Anything! I need all the help I can get if I am to become a better writer.
Here is my first story. I haven't come up with a name for it, but it is Prim's point of view of the Reaping.

where are we?
what the hell is going on?

sinking feeling
When Prim heard Katniss volunteer to take her place in the Hunger Games she was both elated and horrified. Her sister was going to die. Prim thought that she should be the one to go, but she knew that Katniss wouldn’t have it. Was she really that important to Katniss? Katniss had tried to drown her cat more than a dozen times and yet she would be willing to risk her life for her? Prim never dreamed that this would happen …. And yet it was. And she could do nothing to stop it. She would have to watch her sister fight to the death, and all she could do was cuddle up under her mother’s arm and pray for the best.
spin me round again
and rub my eyes,
this can't be happening
when busy streets a mess with people
would stop to hold their heads heavy
Prim was frozen in fear for a long time. Gale pulling her off of the stage was what shook her back into reality. She struggled to fight against his arms to no avail. He was just too powerful. She could shake and squirm all she wanted but his heavily muscled arms would never even begin to quake. Gale whispered into her ear, “You’ll see her again soon.” This calmed her down enough to where she allowed him to carry her back to her mother. Prim now realized that all the cameras were probably watching her right now. Along with them, the entire Capitol. Now she realized it wasn’t her fault. It was the Capitol’s. She looked into the crowd and saw all of the faces of sorry and misery. Katniss was going to come home. She would win. She had to.

Prim tried to remember all of the other Reapings. She had never felt this way before in any of the other ones. This was, of course, a different case entirely. Her own sister had been chosen for the Hunger Games. How would her family survive without her? No meat. No money. Nothing except for the small healing business her mother and herself ran. They would both be dead, her mother and herself, in a matter of weeks. Their only way to survive if her sister did die would be if Gale and his family could spare some food. That was likely, but how long could it last?
oily marks appear on walls
where pleasure moments hung before the takeover,
the sweeping insensitivity of this still life
Prim pressed her face into her mother’s shirt. Sweat and tears embedded themselves in her mother’s shirt as she wept into it. Her mother’s face remained unfazed as she took in all of the news. She was still in shock. First her husband died, now her sister was destined to. Why did life hate them both so much? Why did it love to ruin everything for them? If there was a god out there, why did he let this happen? It was unfair! Only now did Prim realize that she loved her sister more than anyone in the entire world. She couldn’t live without her. She needed her.
If Katniss didn’t survive, Prim would find a way to get back at the Capitol for what they had done.
