Appearance:

Alba is fairly small, standing at 5'3", but is extremely strong, due to all the fishing she's done. Her hair is a bright copper colour, and she usually wears it loose. It's short enough that she doesn't normally have to tie it back when she's fishing, or doing other strenuous activities. Her eyes are hazel, which, her dad says look exactly like her mother's. She's also quite pale, in contrast to most other residents of District 4. One might even assume she doesn't spend large amounts of time outside. But that's not really true. No matter how long Alba stays outside, she never tans. Only burns. Alba also always wears a small locket that belonged to her mother at all times.

Personality:

Alba is quite easily one of the most stubborn people you will ever meet. She always wants to do everything herself, and hates accepting help from anyone, simply because she doesn't want to impose. Since it's only been her and her father all her life, this attitude was developed at quite a young age, being that she had to do many things herself.

She is extremely level headed, and is able to keep her cool in very stressful situations, something she prides herself in. When you first meet Alba however, she may come off as being stern and emotionless, when really, she's just socially awkward. Growing up, Alba lived in a very remote area, and didn't really have many friends, therefore, she never had a chance to learn how to react with other people, therefore is quite hard to get to know at first. When she does open up though, Alba is empathetic, and an extremely good listener. She'll be there for you when you need her to be.

History:

Alba never knew her mother, as she died giving birth to Alba. So, it's always been her and her father, Troy. Troy wasn't exactly born to be a father. His life was fishing, and he didn't know how to raise a daughter. So from the very beginning, he treated Alba in the only way her knew how: as an equal.

As soon as she could stand, Troy taught Alba how to hold a fishing pole, and soon she was able to fish by herself, often taking out her family's boat by herself. Up until she was twelve that is. As soon as Alba attending her first reaping, Troy suddenly became extremely protective of his daughter, no longer treating her as an equal, and forbidding her to go out fishing alone. The thought of possibly losing his only daughter, and only family at that, hit him hard. Although they'd never been extremely poor, always being able to get by, Troy started another two jobs, trying to make sure that Alba would never have to sign up for Tesserae. So far, in theory, it's worked, but Alba's become quite annoyed with her father. Annoyed with the fact his forbid her to go out fishing, one of her favourite things in life. Almost every day, she'll sneak out at night with the boat. So far, strangely enough, Troy has never discovered the large abundance of fish in the nets every morning.
