His face is on the homely side of handsome, one might say. He has dark hair, unlike many in his district, and dark brown eyes--so dark one can't see the pupil unless one looks really closely, but that's creepy. His jaw is well defined, even though he's still a child.

He's skinny with large joints and an awkward frame for a little boy. His hands and feet are larger than most and may seem clumsy, but they actually help him keep his balance quite well. The only thing different from his ancestor--and this may change--is his height. He's tall, but not abnormally, like his ancestor was. Still, if given enough food, Nathan may grow past six feet or so.

Personality:

Nathan is reserved and quiet, but that's only on the outside. On the inside, he's puzzling things out and noting observations. His skill in observing helped him to recognize different types of plants and good planting weather long before it was taught in school. If one spoke to Nathan, one would find that he's a polite boy with a slight accent from who-knows-where (perhaps his large mandible). He loves to read and has tried his hand at writing, too. Nathan doesn't have many close friends, but he is admired for his respect by those who know him.

History:

Nathan is a descendant from a long line--since before Panem existed. Surprisingly, Nathan shares many traits with a somewhat well-known ancestor from several centuries back.

His ancestor, a woodsman from a state of the former country U.S.A. called Tennesse, was known by a few as Abe and was relatively well-known by the people of the country. Was some sort of leader, they think. Of course, the history books don't have anything in them; the stories were passed down through the generations.

Nathan's parents were commoners in District 11, nobodies that others lived next to. They helped with the planting and sowing and tried to make a good home for their children. When Nathan was younger, his parents took him to work with them everyday because he didn't cause big fusses and there was no other place to put him. He learned to farm through observation.

Now he has moved to District 4, and he's using those same skills of observation to learn to fish.

He has an older sister and twin younger sisters. He also had an older brother, but he doesn't remember much of him, just what his parents say. Apparently he disappeared long ago, when Nathan was four, but Nathan has pushed the memory out of his head so he doesn't remember.
