Appearance:

Caanan has been considered to be 'peculiarly attractive' as a friend was heard saying. He changes his hair color as often as a lady changes her unmentionables, so one day he may be blonde and another day he may be brunette. Sometimes he may have a large mohawk, the next a mop of curly hair to his shoulders. He goes through his phases. Also, his eyes are rather touchy when it comes to color. Most of the time they are a hazel brown, but sometimes they become more green depending on the lighting. He's lean, slightly scrawny but broad-shouldered as well, able to fill out a shirt nicely.

He dresses smartly, sometimes a little off-the-wall. A plaid button-up shirt with a tie and a fedora, a tank top showing off his few tattoos and a pair of good hunting boots. He prefers to stay unpredictable, to keep himself mysterious. He doesn’t follow whatever trend one might consider D9 to have, because he doesn’t believe in following the crowd.

The one most noticeable thing about Caanan, however, is his grin. That often devilish, sly, happy, sweet grin that causes the dimples in his cheeks to deepen and the light behind his eyes shine out of mischief or happiness.

He can often look rather unkempt though, sometimes a bit unclean. It doesn't help when his hair is shaggy and uncombed, and let's face it, being out in the wild hunting does not a good-smelling man make.

Personality:

Caanan is quite the anomaly. He can be sly and arrogant in one moment, but sincere and sweet the next. It has nothing to do with a split personality, no, but a mere talent to please people and give them what they want or need to hear. He's a genuinely caring person though, and generally has the best intentions when he tries to please people. He has been known to cause a bit of mischief around the District, but the people of District 9 appreciate his mad hunting skills so they often let his antics slide.

He's a generally happy guy, very loyal to his family. He's very protective of them, so he can get a little aggressive if threatened. Trust me, you don’t want to mess with him and his throwing knives, he’s a target shooter and can throw a knife faster than a baseball.

He is quiet upon first meeting, talking only when he finds something is of importance to be spoken aloud. However, get to know him or get him to talking about his family or close friends and you can't get him to shut up!

He has a one-track mind, only focusing on things that he knows, such as hunting. He can identify the sound or markings of an animal, follow their tracks, track their habits. But he wouldn't know poison ivy from a rose. He knows what he was raised to know and nothing more, and that could end up to be his downfall.

He has a confidence problem, despite his sometimes overly-arrogant nature. He can never seem to get a girl, even as a friend. Maybe it's the fact he has 4 sisters, maybe it's his awkward nature. Whatever the reasons, he remains to be quite innocent. However his ego often gets in the way as well, which may be another reason he remains single. He can't help but be cocky at his hunting skills, and that can be a major turn-off.

History:

Caanan was raised a hunter, simple as that. In a family of 7, he has 4 sisters, two older, two younger. As the youngest male of the family, he is expected to do the hunting while his father works to support the family. It often goes unnoticed, but he often brings home more money from selling his killings and bringing home the money. He doesn’t mind it, he does it for his family. Still, his shenanigans, some say, are his way of crying out for attention.

His family may not be the poorest in D9 but they are for sure not the wealthiest. They have had their struggles but not nearly to the extent as others. For instance, they have had the luck that none of the children were chosen for the Hunger Games. One was already past that age and at 18, Caanan was soon to follow. He still worried for his younger sisters, as they were not as trained in the ways of hunting as he. They could use a knife and a cross-bow, but they would not survive in an arena full of Careers.

He does not have much history, because all he has known was hunting in D9. He’s itching to get out, to know more, to be able to do more for his family than to simply kill a deer.
