Name: Topaz
Gender: Female
Age:Sixteennow twenty-one
District: One

Appearance: Topaz's hair is a dark red shade, personalized with thin streaks of golden blonde that she added on her own. It has a wavy texture, curling in some places, and it reaches to just past her chest. Her bangs, which fall just above her eyes, are normally swept to the side. Her skin is pale with pink undertones, very like her sister's. Her eyes shine the precise shade of the gem she was named for; a brilliant tawny shade of gold.
Tope is slim, though somewhat curvy, and on the tall side, standing at 5'8. She is never seen slouching, she's far too proud of herself for that sort of thing. She stands tall and confident on a daily basis. Though one may view her as a girly-girl of sorts--and indeed she is, in some ways--it is not hard to see by her broad shoulders and muscular, long legs that she is stong and that she trains. She takes care to make sure that her training doesn't ruin her feminine appearance; her hands are never callused, despite the hard work they may do. She keeps her nails rather short because it's easier that way, although they are always consistently painted and filed perfectly. And she always, always wears at least a little bit of makeup.
She is nearly as fond of adorning herself in style as those crazy Capitolians; her clothes are never out of style, just because she can afford to continuously purchase garments that fit the newest trend. And jewelry is arguably her favorite thing in the universe; she's almost always wearing her signature gold-and-silver neckaces with earrings to match. She's careful to make sure she doesn't wear a ridiculous amount, though, which can't be said for some people from her district or the Capitol. All in all, Topaz Ross cares very much about how she looks, and it is doubtful that that will ever change..:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.
Personality: Not surprisingly, Tope can be a bit of an egotist, but that's fairly understandable, seeing as she comes from a wealthy District One family from whom she's always gotten virtually anything she wanted. She knows this about herself, but doesn't normally try to hide it; what's the point? If people don't like it, then they don't. Her sister often tries to humble her, but obviously she rarely succeeds.
Topaz is also incredibly prideful, and has a hard time accepting help from those who offer it. It's a weakness she can't get over; she's always preffered to do things on her own, and it's difficult for her to admit it when she can't. She considers herself a fairly generous person, though pompous, and doesn't hesitate to offer her own help. Another issue with her is trust. She's been taken advantage of more than once in her lifetime, and it's not something she enjoys. Because of this, she doesn't trust easily. She's got plenty of friends, but she can count the ones she truly feels close to, the ones she's completely sure she can trust, on one hand. She herself is a very trustworthy person, despite the fact that she lies when it's convenient for her. She can always be trusted to keep a secret, because even though she tends to be surrounded by petty people she despises gossip and never spreads it. It's fun to hear, but really, no one else needs to. She may contribute to gossip, though, due to the fact that she's an incredibly dramatic person; exaggerating things is what she does best. It's all to make herself look better, though, not intentionally to hurt anyone else.
In addition to this, she's also happens to be a hopeless romantic; ever since she was a little girl reading fairy tales with a princess crown on her head she's dreamed of finding Mr. Prince Charming and living happily ever after. Unfortunately for her, though, her way of going about things leads more commonly to drunken hookups than to true love. It sucks, and she consistently tells herself that next time it'll be different. The next one will be real. But so far love hasn't actually worked out for Topaz..:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.
History: Topaz Ross was born to a wealthy District One family. Her little sister, Sapphire, was born a year later. Both grew up as the average pampered District One little girls. As they were the only two daughters of very busy parents, the two were very close as children. Topaz was always the more outgoing one, though; she was the reason their parents got weekly calls from the preschool teachers that reported a certain Ross child who liked to start arguments with the other toddlers.
As she grew older, she grew even more extroverted; school was always easy for Tope just because she was always surrounded by a circle of friends. Her grades were average, so the teachers didn't bother her; in fact, they all seemed drawn to Topaz's natural charisma. The one thing was, though, growing up, Topaz couldn't help but need attention and this got her into a tough spot when, for some reason, she climbed up onto the roof of her elementary school at the age of nine. It was a dare, and of course she couldn't help but take it.
By age ten Topaz was starting her Career training, despite the fact that her sister constantly pleaded with her not to. Sapphire wouldn't go near the Career Training Center, but seeing as their parents strongly believed that it was the height of dishonor to not have at least one child training for the Games, Topaz was obligated to fill that position. And she doesn't mind the training, either; it gives her something to do, and it would be more than helpful just in case she is ever chosen as a tribute. It's better to be prepared, right? To this day, Topaz doesn't despise the Games as most people do; she finds them to be exciting and interesting.
