Plot: Capitol Retaliation to Excessive Lawbreaking

The Capitol has noticed the increasingly unruly behavior among the citizens of Panem. Lowly district residents have been violating the laws of the nation with less regard than ever before. The President and the Head Peacekeeper will not stand for this. A new detention center has been opened up, and peacekeepers are being dispatched in larger numbers to the districts and other areas.

What does this mean for the residents of Panem? The Capitol is watching you. If you slip up and break the laws, you may find yourself thrown mercilessly into a detention cell and subjected to, ahem, advanced interrogation techniques — and for who knows how long?


Members: You might find yourself with a PM from a staff member saying that your character has received a sentence to a certain amount of time (or number of complete threads) in the detention center for a certain crime. This — along with the Hunger Games — is one of the few times when you have no say in what happens to your character: if you are arrested for your crimes, you must serve your sentence.

Characters will only be forced to become Avoxes for the most serious of crimes, at staff discretion. Avoxes will not be allowed to return to their districts, and will be instead sent to the Capitol. If you truly do not think your character deserves to be made into an Avox, you may send in an appeal to the staff, and we will consider your request.

Those of you interested in making Peacekeeper characters will be subject to a much higher standard in both bio application and previous behavior and RP quality. This is because we'd love to open up character torture more RPing opportunities to you as roleplayers, but we need to know that we can trust you to do a good job.

A new board is being created for the Detention Center (found in the "Other Areas" category) as well as subboards for the cellblocks and the "interrogation" room.

Is it just an extra paragraph or two in each section, or something less measurable?

There's no measure as to how long it needs to be. We can't give you a set length; if you're going to roleplay a Peacekeeper, you should be able to estimate when your bio has a good length and quality. Just describe to us everything about them. Have you seen some of the longest, most detailed bios on the site? Aim for that, aim higher than that, and though you may not get that long, it will certainly be close.

This is pure awesomeness!! I love that you're keeping it so real! I had my character and Luna's (Belameane) get caught by Peacekeepers, but there was no one to play them, so we were kind of just writing them on our own. But we're planning an escape attempt anyway in that thread, so maybe it's better they're not "officially" caught!

But I have a question....if we DO get caught and there's that time limit about when we can actually get out of the detention center, does that mean we can only post in the detention center during that time? Or is it okay to continue other threads we have going, as well as start new ones that took place before the sentence or after the sentence has been served?
I might not mind getting caught, since Naoki and his family pretty much act as thieves for a living, as long as I can still post in other places!

are they're going to be oppurtunities for punishments to be seen by the districts (whippings ect), or is that up to the peacekeeper

What if your character gets sentenced and then they get reaped into the Games before the sentence is up?

Naoki's question- No, threads outside of the Detention Center will have to be on hold for the amount of time you're sentenced to.

Wings- Most likely all of the punishments will be in the detention center, but maybe in the future some will be held in the districts.

Psych- I'd say 20 and over, so no kids.

Bane- You can make them anytime.

Kayla- We're making an exception for the Games, if you're sentenced then Reaped your Reaped character will be transported to the Capitol to participate.

I have a question. If someone is in the cell that has been assigned to you, do you join their thread, or do make a new one? Because James got caught an I want to know what to do so I can this over with before the Games start.

If they have made a thread, reply to it; if they haven't, start one. For the most part, there are two people per cell; three per cell in some cases with the smaller crimes.
