Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 10
Appearance:
At first, Darcy looks like any other girl from District 10. She has elbow length, curly, fiery-red hair. It's silky smooth and obviously well taken care of. It falls just so, framing her face but not getting in the way either. Her face is one filled with a burning curiosity and constant laughter. Her large, almond shaped eyes see everything from under long, dark lashed. Her eyebrows arch just so she always looks surprised. Her small nose is a perfect complement to her soft features. Her mouth is almost always pulled into a smile or a laugh. She is smaller for her age, short and thin, but soft at the same time.
When someone actually looks at her they notice her quirks and difference. She loves to wear sun dresses and long, flowing skirts. She wouldn't be seen dead in a pair of pants. Her shirts are always a free, flowy fabric of some bright colour. Her shoes almost always are some type of sandal or boot. She loves huge belts and big bags and usually is seen with both. She also loves feathers and headbands, she wears them like the hippies of old. Her one constant in her wardrobe is her leather necklace with a metallic rainbow coloured flower on it. It's been in her family for generations, passed down from mother to daughter all that time.
Personality:
Darcy is... well Darcy. At first she seems a little spacey, off in her own little world. She is always friendly and helpful but... vague in her answers and conversations in general. In truth, she's just thinking hard about what to say next because she doesn't like offending people and saying the wrong things. She is very peaceful and happy, always loving everything around her. She is a wonderful writer and story teller but she fails epically at math. She hates it and wonders everyday why she was born in this drab little District full of nerds. Then she feels all guilty because that probably would offend someone if she said it out loud.
If someone is rude to her or disapproves *hint, hint * she is saddened at first, but she keeps trying till that person accepts her. If she's still annoying them she will still persist, wanting no one to even slightly dislike her. I wouldn't call that self conciousness, just a love of peace and a strong dislike for hate. I guess you could say she has a stubborn streak, but she's always willing to try new things, except if it has to do with numbers. If someone does get her mad, she will start sobbing uncontrollably and will be all wacked out for a few days, wearing only dark clothing and the like. She also does this after someone or something she knows dies, something saddens her, and during the Hunger Games.
History:
Darcy's parents come from two very different back grounds. Her father was the mayors son, very well off and most was destined to be the next mayor. He was handsome and kind and could've gotten anyone he wanted. Darcy's mom was from the poor part of town, her dad just a store clerk. She was pretty though and that was the mayor's son's downfall. They met when she was doing a quick job of cleaning his house (as a maid mind you) when he saw her. Things went from there and the next thing you know. They're in love and the son has been disowned by his parents so they are living in the house next to her parents. 8 months later and a girl by the name of Darcy is born. Coincidence? I think not.
Darcy grew up in her poor but loved life with two other siblings who were twins. Their names were Max and Maxine. (Forgive me but it's 11:19 and I couldn't come up with better names) Her mother always encouraged creativity, niceness and love which ended up pretty much shaping Darcy's life. During her life only one thing drastically, earth shatteringly bad happened and that was when her beau wasn't allowed to hang out with her any more. His parents were friends with her grandparents on her dads side. They heard about what he did and assumed she was a horrid girl. She wasn't so torn up by that as she was by the fact that he didn't even try to salvage their relationship. She never really healed, not trusting guys that much at all, not that she'd ever show it.
