Name: Fernelle 'Fernie' Ashton Oakland
Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Fernie was born in mid-summer, July 7th to be exact. She has one sibling, who happens to be her twin brother. He is older than her by a couple of minutes. He died about 2 years ago from a fall from a tree. Her mother died shortly after from a terrible flu. She lives with her father in a small house that barely has enough room for the two of them. She hasn't figured it out yet, but she thinks she may be compelled by the Careers in the Hunger Games.
IN DEPTH
It was a warm summer night. July had been a little windier than usual. A frail looking woman, maybe in her early twenties, lay on her bed. Her face was red, she was screaming, and she was working up a sweat - obviously she was giving birth. A man clutched her hand with his left hand trying to calm her, while his righ hand was holding his newborn baby son. He would gently press his finger against the baby's arm every now and then. The new parents, Berkley and Willow Oakland, were so excited to be having twins. Then, all of a sudden, the woman gave a loud scream and her daughter was born. Their names were Barley and Fernelle, later to be nicknamed as Jay and Fernie. Jay bore a striking resemblance to his father, though his sister looked like nobody in their family.
Fernie grew up feeling like an outcast. Even though the wouldn't admit it, everyone she knew favored Jay more than her, excluding her father who favored her more. She stole frequently in her younger years, until her father caught her and told her to stop immediately, and it was never mentioned again. She tried to find some way to be noticed, finally trying to climb a tree. She made it fairly high and kept practicing. Her brother saw her one day and tried to beat her at it. He got as high as she could, but since he was much bigger than she was the branch snapped. He plummeted to the ground where he met is untimely demise. You'd think a fall from a tree may just wound somebody, and it would, though he fell on the ground next to a large rock. He died from brain trauma nearly seconds after he landed. Even after her brother's death, she continued to climb trees. Nearly 3 months later her mother contracted some deadly influenza that was unknown to the general population. It quickly ended the poor woman's life. Her father, feeling isolated, immediately took into interacting with his daughter more. He taught her many things.
A few years later, she started paying more attention to the games. Her father thought this was fairly strange, especially for a girl from District 11, that she would always seem to paying attention to every thing. She mostly would root for the Careers, usually the kids from District 1,2, and 4. This scared him even more when she would mutter to herself things they should be doing, as if she was one of them. He started talking to her more and more, eventually getting to the point where they spent all the time together they could. He did this because he hoped that she would see that she wouldn't do anything drastic, most likely volunteer at Reaping Day. Life went on, most things staying the same. She has started to pay attention to guys now in a romantic way. Fernie still lives in that cramped house with her father and she probably always will, unless she gets married.[/blockquote]Codeword: muttations

Age: 17

District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Personality:PB: Sierra Kusterbeck
Fernie has gorgeous hair. It is straight with a slight wave. It is naturally reddish brown, though it is dyed brown. She also has some streaks of red and blonde to really show the meaning of nature. The blonde is for purity; the red for abundance; and the brown is for strength and pride. Some, such as her grandmother, have accused her of being a symbol of rebellion, though she denies it. Though she works in the fields a lot she has very pale skin. She has gorgeous brown eyes tht reflect the bark of the trees which she will stand by till the end; if you concentrate, you can ind the true reflection hideen in her eyes: the intense sorrow, hope, and never ending struggle to fight for anything she believes in.
Her physique isn't the best. She isn't the strongest person in the world, but her strong legs help her when she is climbing trees. She is about the height of 5'9, being the average height of her family. She is about 110 pounds, a small weight for a girl her age. Usually, she will wear nail polish matching the seasons. It may be expensive, but she digs around own until she finds it. Her mother gave her two bottles, however, corresponding with Winter and Summer.
WHAT'S ON THE OUTSIDEHistory:
Fernie appears to be a sweet-minded girl who would cry of she watched anything die. Also, she seems to be a wise, caring, kind, and selfless teen who loves all things. This is how she appears to strangers. Most of the time she seems an innocent girl who could never tell a lie. Some people she works with hate her for these atributes, which could be her fatal flaw. Even though she acts like this you can never...(Continue t next paragraph)
JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER
You can never do this, for you don't know what they really are. If you truly knew Fernie you'd know she is a rebellious, romantic, and wise girl that eeveryone underestimates. Behind that cute angel face is a devious mind. Her heart, thirsts for her romance. She always has a trick up her sleeve. She clearly gets these traits from her long-deceased mother. Some think of her as a simple minded brat, but no, not even close. You insult this daring teen and she'll be sure to get her glorious revenge. But, keep in mind: every girl has her....(continue to next paragraph)
QUIRKS AND FLAWS
Of course, of course. Every girl, and guy, has their own little quirks and flaws. And, this girl is no exception. She has a small little habbit of biting her lip when someone she crushes on talks to her. Then again, there is her anticipation hand motation, or at least that's what her mother called it until she passed away. It is basically a small little fidgit with her hands, she practically fumbles with her own hands. Then, her occasional boredom quirk, where she'll kick anything small and on the ground. Then, there is her flaws. Her most fatal is probably the jealousy people have towards her. Another flaw she has is trying to figure out puzzles, it usually isn't an issue, but it can make her a little crazy. The last, is probably her hate for District 1.
