Appearance: Mason is 5'2", tall for her age, with tan skin and blond hair. Her hair is always braided and tried back. Average weight but strong arms from wielding tridents and heavy nets.. She has green eyes. Her face is always red from being in the sun. She looks older than she really is. She is normally seen in brown cargo pants and a tank top. Shorts and tank top when she swims.

Personality: Mason try's to find the good in bad situations. Her cheery attitude rubs off on the ones around her. At school she has many friends. She tries to make people happy if they are sad or depressed. Thought she needs to learn when its the right time to speak and when to close her mouth. She isnt very patient. She enjoys work and hardly complains.Mason is always ready for an adventure in her every day life. Her favorite thing to do is harpoon fishing. Something only adventure seekers do. It is very dangerous because it means jumping of a boat in the open sea with only the harpoon and goggles. She also knows all about what is going on. She eavesdrops on every one around her. This may sound nosy but it comes in handy when its on peacekeepers.

History:
Her family consist of her parents; Lily and Daniel, 1 older brother Mark, 1 younger brother Todd and a younger sister, Lillian. Mason had another sister who died at birth. One thing that is different about the Gierse family is that Mason's younger brother is autistic. This created some problems that they are still to this day trying to over come. Mason is protective over Todd and always watches out for him. This has gotten her in many fights at school. At age 9 she received a whipping at school for beating up some one who made fun of Todd. Her father works hard as a fisher and her mom takes care of the family. No aunt, uncle, or grandparents help the family. She fishes when not in school, she learned how to fish before most kids did. Her father taught her.They think Daniel and Lily should of gave him to the children's home. Mark, also helps out all he can working when not in school. At about the age of 3 Mason was injured while at the docks with her father. She was hit in the head by a rising beam. She has a long scar from her neck to the top of her head. At age 5 there family about starved even thought they lived in a wealthier district. Her live is very busy and has been since she was able to walk. At age 7 she secretly trained to be a tribute in the hunger games, and still does. Her parents know nothing about this. Also she was in a harpoon accident leaving scars on her legs.
