Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Nila is widely considered by many to be beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, or whatever other word you would use to describe someone who could not possible look prettier. In looks, she could be described as being as close to perfect as possible.Personality:
Her luscious blonde hair falls in loose waves to just below her shoulders, although finding it left down is a rare occurrence. Nila's hair can normally be seen in a high ponytail or a practical braid for training. The roots of her hair are darker than the majority of her light blond hair, and natural highlights give locks of her hair darker blond or reddish highlights.
Nila has pale skin which remains only slightly tanned by the sun and working outside in District 4. Her skin is free of blemishes, except for one glaring imperfection: a long, angry scar on her back running from her right shoulder to her left hip. The skin around her scar used to be a severe red color, but it faded to a lighter color over the years, and is now a pink-ish color. The skin around her scar is slightly raised and knotted.
Her face resembles something akin to a goddess. High cheekbones, and a delicate jawline. Nila has a somewhat high forehead that lies above her dark blue eyes. She has full lips and a very slightly sloping nose.
Nila is built thin, but has firm, tones muscles especially in her forearms, abdomen, and thighs. Her figure has benefited from constant workouts, only improving her slender build.
Nila stands at 5'8, an unusually large height that grants her an advantage over small opponents.
Nila was brought up to only recognize to emotions: determination and control. She learned at a very young age what exactly that meant.History:
Nila, at a glance, appears perfect. She strives for perfection in everything she does. She doesn't tolerate failure, whether it be from her or someone else. She looks down upon weaknesses, especially hers.
Because of that, Nila looks down on almost everyone. She became arrogant and cruel, though almost always from a distance. She prefers not to get involved with other people's problems.
Nila is a very closed-off person, never discussing any emotions she feels unless it relates to her will-power. The main reason for this is that she rarely recognizes her emotions for what they are, and tries to hardest to forget them.
Due to the fact the Nila feels she has achieved perfection, she maintains an aloof attitude towards people. She is often cruel and condescending towards people she considers inferior.
Nila also proved at a young age to have a strategist's mind. She tries to think of the perfect solution to everything. Most of the time, this works. However, plans aren't always perfect, and they can't all work. Besides, Nila has her weaknesses, and she sometimes fails to account for that.
Despite the fact that Nila has quite the mind, she lacks some part of her brain that everyone else seems to have. For example, a conscience. She doesn't care if what she says hurts someone. Or if she does, it's only for a brief moment before she gets over it.
In parts of her life, Nila is extremely uncomfortable. The few times boys showed interest in her, Nila scared them away with her intensity and cruelty. This served to make her more imbalanced and mean. This led to not having any real friends, and Nila is cripplingly awkward when it comes to social matters. She tries to ignore the matter, and is loathe to admit that she just might not be perfect.
Underneath her above-it-all and perfectionist attitude, Nila is very insecure. She rarely recognizes her insecurities, but they remain within her. The fact that she can't understand her feelings well bothers her, especially the fact that deep down inside, she does know, she is just often in denial.
When Nila's father realized just how much potential Nila could be, he refused to accept anything less than perfect from her. He demanded the absolute best.
Nila always met these demands, no matter how much they damaged her. Her father often drove her to the point of collapsing as he demanded that she fix something wrong.
Nila has always striven to please, and her desire to be better than everyone else was embedded deeply within herself. She fails to understand that it's not the most important thing in life.
Nila was the twin of Gavin, and her parents were Vira and Holmes Doherty. Her mother, said to be beautiful and gentle, but also very meek, died in childbirth. Holmes raised her and her elder brother by himself, rather well, until he realized Nila's potential.Codeword: <img src="http://i41.tinypic.com/16h2ibt.png">
Nila had proven herself at a young age (three years old, to be precise) to be a child prodigy. She was sure to be a Career tribute when she was old enough. She had it all: beauty, brains, and skill.
Skill. Nila was skilled in almost everything. Archery, knives, swords, survival, strength training. She had a strong work ethic, and her father took advantage of this.
He became very involved in her future, hoping to have her compete in the Games. He trained her until she vomited, and then continued to train her for another hour. He refused to tolerate weakness, especially Nila's: defense.
Nila had always been a head-on sort of person until one day when she was twelve years old. Her father told her to attack him, so she did so. While dealing a blow that should have killed him (not really, because they were using dull swords), her father ducked and took out a thin whip. He struck her back, telling her to expect foulplay. Everything that could go wrong would.
While he was working her to the bone each day, his son grew more and more distant. Gavin wasn't nearly as gifted as she, and Holmes Doherty had lost interest in him long ago. Nila had grown cruel enough to not care.
In time, Nila became the best at pretty much everything. She became arrogant because of this. She considers everyone beneath her, because they don't strive for perfection as she does.
Underneath her pride, she feels insecure about her lack of a motherly influence. She always wondered whether she missed something growing up. Like her mother. Although Nila doesn't really care for her brother, she has talked to him sometimes as an equal. He always talked about their mother must have been amazing, to put up with their father. Gavin, although he never really knew their mother, thinks that Vira would have loved him like Holmes never had. He blames her passing on one person: Nila.
Gavin Doherty carried his hate with him throughout his life. His father didn't love him, and he had trained Nila not to (not that he cared). At the rare times he would talk to his younger sister, he told her that she killed their mother.
Although Nila brushes off these comments, they have deeply affected her. Nila blames herself for the death of her mother, although she doesn't fully realize why. Perhaps deep down inside she thinks that she killed her one chance for a normal life. For a kind, caring parent. For redemption.
