Zynna Yondall
It's cold. That's the only thought that registered in Zynna's head as she trudged towards home. The hard-packed snow crackled beneath her feet, and she could see her breath. She rubbed her hands together, wishing she had gloves to wear. She hated winters. What was wrong with nice, seventy-five degree weather? Honestly.
Besides, there wasn't much to do in winter. A lot of the animals went into hibernation, and the ones that didn't were tricky to find. Precious hours spent hunting in the woods, and Zynna was forced to return home to her mother and two sisters with nothing. She had the luxury of being allowed to continue hunting, even after most were forced to stop. You'd think she would be able to do some actual hunting, and actually get something. Oh, well. She was just tired, and all she wanted was to flop down in her bed at home.
Zynna crossed the street and moved down the ally between the two buildings in front of her. It didn't look like much back here, but it was a shortcut that could save her a good five minutes of walking to get back home. She took this way home on a regular basis, and knew it like the back of her hand. She reached the short gate at the end of the ally, and was about to climb over, when she stopped.
Call it intuition, but Zynna felt... different. She glanced behind her, and saw that the usually deserted bench sitting against the wall of the building was now occupied by some stranger. "Um... Hello?" Zynna said, the greeting turning into a question. This place was almost always empty. What was this person doing back here?
