Ging Teris, District 2 Peacekeeper

Upon waking up, I quickly shower, shave, brush my teeth, and get in my Peacekeeper uniform. I was told yesterday to come in early, and you can bet I'm following orders. My record hasn't been spotless with the resent rebel activity, so I have to get it back to spotless. You know, the rebels are right. You should fight the Capitol, not fight for it. Daniel needs to get the hell out, as always.
"Daniel, shut up and let me do my job." I hiss at the personality in my head. He doesn't need to but in. The only reason I would have to go the HQ would be a special mission. I don't need Daniel messing with me for this. Straightening my collar, I take a breath and step into the cold street.
All the snow has melted, leaving behind new green shoots at the side of the road. You can still see small clumps of snow, but grass breaks through the surface in most cases. I walk quickly, observing everything I pass with cold, uncaring eyes. It's early, so I might be able to catch a few of the last night troublemakers that haven't yet slunk back to their lairs to count whatever ill-gotten gains they've obtained, or pat their empty pockets mournfully.
Unfortunately, I don't run across and law-breakers because it is such a short walk, and find myself at the Peacekeeper HQ, the biggest in all the Districts. A few blocks away is the city square, where shopkeepers sleepily open their doors for the first shoppers of the morning. Other than that the District is quiet, birds chirping happily in the trees. Seems like arrests will be few and far between today, at least in the main town.
Walking in, the Peacekeeper on desk duty stops me and directs me straight to the Head Peacekeeper's office. I nod and clomp down the hall, knocking on his door when I arrive. He calls for me to enter and I walk in, stopping smartly and give a quick salute. He motions for me to sit int eh chair in front of his desk. "Ging, there is a Peacekeeper who is being sent from District 1 who will be here for a short time. I want you to pick him up from the train station and bring him back here." For a moment, I sit there speechless.
"My special job, is to pick someone up... from the train station?" I splutter. What the hell? He doesn't need a Peacekeeper for that. Quickly I compose myself and nod. "I'm sorry, of course sir. Anything else sir?" He shakes his head. "No, but watch out for any possible rebel interference. They've been surprisingly active, and I don't need a foreign Peacekeeper, and one of my best men, going down in action." I nod and stand, giving him another salute, then quickly slide out and begin the walk to the train station. It's not very long, since it's also very close to the city square.
Arriving at the train station, I ask one of the workers when the next train from District 1. "Just a few minutes sir." He garbles out, intimidated by my presence. I nod and sit at one of the benches, hand close to my gun in case there's trouble. So I wait for this Peacekeeper from District 1.
