Appearance:

Shan-Wen appears a few years older than he actually is. He is tall and quite awkward, standing at 5'11. He's pretty skinny but actually has well-built muscles and a four-pack, though few people know it. He has deep tan skin and dark brown eyes. His black hair is fairly long and totally straight. He has glasses, which make him look nerdy. Many of his clothes appear out of the ordinary, since he brought them from China, where the styles are different. He is always carefully dressed.

Personality:

Shan is very outgoing. He is forthright, honest to the extreme, and likes to flaunt both his intellectual and artistic sides. At school, he's the kid who knows the answer every time he's called on, the kid people want to work with on projects. Outside of school, he's extroverted and even a little thingyy at times. Some people don't like his tendency to show off, but many just find him funny and entertaining to be around.
Around girls, Shan is sweet but not overly kind - meaning he doesn't trip over himself trying to be a gentleman. Around boys, Shan is witty and a bit flirty.

History:

Shan-Wen was born in a huge city in China. His family was very well-off and always wanted the best for him. As a young child, he started learning piano, violin, and tennis. He was particularly good at piano. Shan was an average student, and did very well at English.
His parents wanted more for him.
So when the Chinese government announced the need for someone who would travel to the distant land of Panem and work in their foreign-relations district, mainly translating and helping to make a good name for China.
Shan was the perfect contender, and at the age of nine, was sent over. He was sent to one of the white Peacekeeper families in District 10.
The first four years of his life in Panem were hell. He wasn't great at English and had a heavy accent. He kept to himself; the other kids made fun of him for his accent and awkward intelligence, and hated him for the fact that he was rich.
Shan's hardest year was after he turned twelve. While boys around him were beginning to fall for girls, Shan found he was attracted only to the other boys. He had no idea how to act around them, and was shunned further.
Midway through his thirteenth year, Shan broke open. In a good way. He allowed his impulses and eccentricities spill out. He mastered English and began to relate more to the people around him; they, in turn, grudgingly made room for him in heir social circles.
By fifteen, Shan, or "Sean", was moderately popular and well-liked. He accepted his homosexuality, and discovered that he was also attracted to some girls. He and his Peacekeeper family get along very well and they support all of his endeavors.
He still plays the piano very well.
