sister to Storm and Europa and Io, second oldest in family. Storm's dead [57th tribute], she resolves to take care of Europa and Io no matter what b/c their parents are too busy to take care of them, especially with the district change and their farm being worse off than usual. She went on a date with Trace Rowgan [56th tribute] and was very depressed for a time, because he helped her get over her shyness [somewhat] and things like that. She's more cordial and polite to others now, and recently she met Tanner, Trace's younger brother. Insert awkwardness here.
She's protective, determined, artistic, a hard worker, kind, logical, reasonable, good at academics, pacifist, things like that. She also has a cat [Luna? Luma? I don't even know], I think. I haven't written about the cat for ages though, so maybe it just disappeared into limbo. Yaay limbo.edit: sigh, found it
Name: Sundra Wie
Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
Sundra Wie is very tall compared to her family. In fact, she is the tallest one out of 4 siblings; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Sundra stands out in the crowd, for her face is very pale for being in the sun all day. Her dark brown eyes glow in the sunlight, to reveal the color of caramel, with flecks that look like butterscotch floating in between. Her hair is long, wavy and is the color of roasted coffee beans.
Sundra always wears a simple silver chain necklace. But there is a small gem, a flawless garnet, that hangs from the delicate strands of metal. She would never takes this off, not even when facing death. She does this because this necklace is a family heirloom, passed down to the first born daughter of the family for generations. If she were to lose it, she would be devastated.
Personality:
Sundra Wie is a very shy girl. So shy in fact, that she even finds it hard to talk to her family. She shares her most important secrets with her best friend, a young kitten named Muna, who also, doesn't talk much, or in this case, meow much. Sundra is also claustrophobic, which makes going to gatherings like the reaping, (where not only is it crowded, but filled with people) a horrible experience. She easily panics, causing her judgement to falter, which tends to lead to negative consequences, both for herself, and for those around her. Furthermore, since it is impossible for Sundra to blend into the crowd, her attempts at fleeing areas are always noticed, especially combined with her clumsiness.
When Sundra Wie gets angry, you know that it's for a good reason. Sundra bottles up all her anger inside her, until it cannot be contained, causing the slightest inconvenience to set her off. When she becomes furious like this, even her family get a little scared. But her anger easily ebbs, and soon she is back to normal. However, she is still a little edgy for the next few days or so.
Sundra absolutely loves animals. She wakes up before everyone else in the household to walk around the pastures and converse with the cows. She also goes to sleep around midnight, for she spends long hours sketching many of the animals as well. She works diligently, quickly cleaning pens, feeding both animals and family members, and cleaning the house, as well as other chores. Sundra wishes that she didn’t have to go to school, so she could spend all of her time with her special friends.
History:
Sundra Wie was the second child to be born in her household, and the first girl as well. Due to this, Sundra and her older brother, Storm, were rather lonely, as their parents had to work all day, never having any time to play with their children. Of course, they made sure that the kids were fed, changed, and knew their A to Z’s, but otherwise, there was almost no contact between the family. However, contact increased when the children were big enough to be able to help their parents with tending the animals and such. But still, Sundra was often ignored, as Storm was much more outgoing than she was. So she became friends with the animals, talking to them instead of to other human beings.
Therefore, when it was time for Sundra to go to school, there was a problem. If she didn’t talk to people, how would she survive school in the first place? But Sundra learned a valuable tool; to just be quiet. Listening would help her get by in class. In fact, Sundra’s grades became high enough for students to ask her for help, which they didn’t get; after all, she still didn’t talk.
After the youngest child was born, Sundra’s parents had already accepted that they had alienated their child, but her mother gave her a garnet necklace to show that she was still cared for. Sundra has never taken it off since, because it is one of the only things that proves that she really does have a family. To make up for her absence in speech, Sundra learned how to prepare meals that were large enough to feed a family of seven. But even with tesserae, which only Sundra and Storm use, they are far from healthy; Sundra almost always goes hungry so her family can eat.
