Another year barely passes by without getting reaped. I enter the front door first, eventually followed by Gabe and Anna. Anna and me in opposite dresses. Hers in a light yellow, and mine in a dark purple color. Meanwhile Gabe was wearing a nice suit that the scientists had left for Anna. The only color shown was a medium blue tie. At the current moment he appears as if he is dead to the world with dark circles underneath his eyes. All the while he looked pretty amazing in the suit that Anna had lying around. To be honest I thought I saw Anna looking him over when he left his room to leave for the reaping.

I sighed and sat down in the chair. No, I more of plopped on the chair. I was tired because of standing all through the mayor's speech. This year it felt especially long considering the recent events with Gabe. Especially with him and his late night walks, or his nightmares. As of late he would sneak out of his room and leave the door leading outside unlocked. Luckily I would be able to wake up before Anna did to relock the door...

At that moment I remembered something on the news earlier today. They said that a young teenager was appearently murdered at midnight. I glanced over at Gabe who was making his way over to the stairs to the basement. He paused and held his head in my direction. You could tell that he wanted to be alone, in his own little area. He had that slightly crazed look in his eye. That seemed to be appearing more then usual. It was about time I spoke up about it. However once I opened my mouth I realized the words just fell out in a jumble, "Anna, we need to talk."

I glanced over at Gabe and his head was turned away from me. I turned my head to my hands and I began fiddling with my thumbs. I only stopped when I heard the stairs creek when Gabe stepped onto the first stair. I could tell that he was slowly breaking, "Hey Anna, after you're done talking come into my room."

Gabe proceded down the stairs without a single word to me. I pulled up feet up to my body and allowed several tears to escape. He wasn't my brother anymore. He didn't even want any part to do with me. It wasn't until I realized that Anna was still there that I began to clean myself and my act up.
