Hi everybody. I need some help with a Hunger Games related project. I've talked to Aya and Saph about posting this here.
As some of you know, I have a series of Hunger Games pages on Squidoo. Squidoo is a site that allows me to create content and earn money for what I've produced. There are two ways that you make money on Squidoo; the first is by affiliate sales. So, for example, if somebody buys The Hunger Games Boxed Set on one of my pages, I get a small commission for the sale (4.25%). The other way is called lensrank, which is a system by which each page is ranked based on a variety of (unknown to me) factors. The highest performing pages make the most money. I've told you all this just as background.
I was the first person on the site to generate Hunger Games content. Three of these pages have won an award. Although most of them need updating, they are well thought-out, nicely put together, and feature fan art (let me know if you have any art or fics you'd like to have featured on an upcoming page!). In my opinion, they are the most attractive Hunger Games pages on Squidoo, but they aren't doing so well, probably because I don't have anything "free" on the site (such as pirated copies of the books). My pages aren't doing as well as some that offer illegal content. Because I am an "angel" on Squidoo, I have enough control to take away some of the authority of the other pages, but I refuse to abuse my power that way. I've reported a couple of pages with illegal content, but I'm still frustrated. These pages should be performing. Their keywords are very good, and I think my SEO is decent (if you know SEO and think I could be doing better, please let me know).
The question is in the poll, but if any of you have any thoughts on what I can do to get these pages performing better, I'd appreciate it. I work very hard with them to support the community and have the link to this site prominently featured on a role playing page of mine (Hunger Games specific). Noteworthy is the fact that the better my pages (or lenses) do, the more likely it is that I can get some attention for the sites, art or fiction that I promote. Your help is very much appreciated!
