Between poisonous plants and poisonous animals/weapons, it would be cool if we had a system for poison damage.

Technically, we already do. In the Games, if someone eats a plant or drinks untreated water, they have to roll a dice with 6 results, more or less, and the number they get according to a table is whether they take damage, or die, or if the plant or water is fine.
