I am half asleep in my bed. My rock solid mattress was cold all around me, except where I was laying. I knew this is the time my father should get me. I always wake up around this time in the morning. While my pale room stands still, I can hear loud footsteps in the hallway.
"Alainia, get up. We have to go in thirty minutes." My father said. I silently rose from my bed, and stepped onto the hardwood, creaking floor. My pajamas, which where at least 2 sizes too big for me, hung over the floor like a mop. And just like a mop, I sweeeped across the room over to my tall wooden dresser.
"Wood, wood, wood, nothing but wood." I mumbled to myself. Wood was all District 7 was. Four letters, and you can describe a whole district. How boring. But wood made people of District 7 proud. District 7 wood is probably the best wood you'll ever find in all of Panem. If you ever went to District 7, you would see wooden houses, and if you went in those houses, theirs wooden furniture, cabnets, Bedframes! Wood is our whole District! But wood to me is my life.
I grab an old wornout brown tanktop. Once again, the color of wood. Along with that, some jean shorts. I was glad my family is wealthy enough to buy me some decent clothes. I was going to the forest with my dad to chop some wood. I quickly pack my belongings that I would need in the forest. Three bottles of water, my axe, some knives, and a hat. I walk down the hallway and wait for my dad.
My dad and I slowly begin to drive off, and we are at the forest in a matter of 15 minutes. I quickly find the best tree I could, and pullout my axe.
