Working in the spice shop is making me bored right now. I don't know what else to do. My mother is taking care of my two devil brothers and my father is making more spices; he's also trying to make brand new spices. I don't think he's doing very good because I hear his yell.
"Dad?" I ask. "Are you doing OK in there?"
"Yes, I'm fine." He answers.
I don't think he's fine. I suddenly smell a very distinct burning smell and think I'd like to leave. What are the customers going to think when they smell it?
I walk into the back; where the house is and walk up to my father.
"Do you want to take a break from that for now?" I ask him.
"What are you asking?" He asked me suspiciously, knowing I want him to do something.
"Would you mind watching the shop for a bit?"
"Alright," I smile when he says this. "But, be back for lunch time please."
I give him a thumbs-up and start walking out the door.
Where was I going? I was going to the forest. I'd like to practice a bit of hunting. Of course I know I won't do well but I guess I could try. There's a chance I may get at least something injured. I was just getting into the seam when I felt the sun. Finally! I haven't seen it in so long.
Wow, this is really nice on my part! I thought.
It was really good on my part; it was probably really good on others as well.
It was to my convenience that the sun would come out when I go to hunt. My feet finally carry me to the fence that's supposed to be on 24 hours a day. Even though everyone knows District 12 is too poor for all that electricity being used up.
I find the hole that I can just fit into and slip my way passed the iron fencing. I'm back in the forest and brought a knife that I snuck into my bag a while ago. I walked over to a far tree, and sat down. I placed my bag in front of me and opened it up. There, shining, was the knife I'd snuck. I took it out and examined it again, the way I did when I first snuck it.
The knife was medium sized and serrated on the back of it. It was my great, great, great grandfather's hunting knife. I'm going to practice throwing it, but I first need to try it on a tree. I held the knife in my hand, finger closer to the front and my thumb closer to the serrated part. My arm went back, ready to throw.
My eyes caught somewhere I wanted my knife to go and I threw it. It didn't quite make it's destination. The knife cut through the air, hit the tree and fell on the ground. It was slightly off where I wanted it do go. I walked up to the tree, and bent to pick up the knife.
After I threw the knife again, it landed where I wanted it to and got in the tree. Yes! I did it. Before now, I have been practicing a bit but haven't really gotten that many successful knife throws. I felt happiness whelm up inside me. After a while, I'll actually get to try it on some animals. [/size]
