1. There needs to be a way for people to find others to rp with. I notice a lot of times people ignore this request in the cbox and then it leaves that member alone sometimes for multiple weeks without rp which can lead to them leaving. For shyer members like me I really think there needs to be some kind of policy where if you are not able to find someone to rp with in 48 hours, then you can contact a staff member who can help you find someone active to rp with.
2. Activty Check. With over 3,000 members listed I am sure not all of them are active. It makes things difficult for face claim when you have tons take and not everyone is playing. On other sites I have seen this implanted once a month and it keeps things quite organzied. If people might be gone,etc. they need to post in the leaving thread. If need be this can be seperated from the intro or made into a sub-board so that members can post their time zone, usual availablity, and any break's in activity in one post dedicated to that one individual. For the first offense there is usually a grace clause invoked depending on when they last logged in,etc.
3. Different accounts for each charachter and a gender ratio. This means they HAVE to post with their charachter and allows the unsued charachter's to be gotten rid of by pming an admin. It also increases activity and should help people who are having trouble getting involved in the rp.
4. Members only c-box. This again I've seen used VERY well. The c-box on the site is then reserved for questions, requests, and notices specific to the site such as the request to rp in a set district. The one I have seen was NOT used for long conversations, personal topics, etc and helped keep things moving. The members c-box was usually reserved for that and a link was provided on the side near the normal c-box. This allows members in need of help,etc. to get it fast.
I will note there is a lot of off-topic conversations which several people do not understand or can not get involved in. Then it results in people who have things related to the site being said to get ignored completely in the c-box we do have.
5. Relationship Pages. This would be different than plot pages and could be made as a sub-board. Then members can post how they would like to interact with another player's charachter.
6. An easily viewed member directory of who plays who. Once a charachter is accepted it is madatory they post in this thread so it keeps them and others organized.
7. A thread for rping dreams,etc. I thought this was neat when I saw it elsewhere. This can also be for random rp with the charachter that may not quite fit what goes on in the site.
8. Update monthly spotlight each month. I noticed it still was from January so I thought to mention this.
9. Writing awards-This can be for original or fanfiction and added to the member spotlight.
