Because this is more important than school at the momentThis is my first technically competitive Pokemon team that I plan to pit against friends more than other competitive players. Still, I'd like to nickname them, since I hardly ever do that.
The dilemma here is the scheme that I want: mythological or other game-based. With that, here we go (game name on top and mythological on bottom):
[Note: Not revealing roles of each except from the description of why the names are picked]
Swampert
Piers - Golden Sun - Mercury (equivalent of water) Adept and second highest Defense; not bad statistically in offense
Phorcys - Greek myth - Sea god; dangers of the deep
Jolteon
Akihiko - Persona 3 - Electric affinity; debuffer (as opposed to Aigis' buffer)
Kwuhnxwa/Kw-Uhnx-Wa - Nuu-chah-nulth/Native American myth - Thunderbird; spirit that carried messages from one to another
Arcanine
Akane - 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors - [spoilerspoilerspoiler]
Supposedly died in a fire and is commonly seen having fever fits; hidden personality shows she is willing to take down anyone that has hurt her and has true hatred, despite her naive, positive personality towards Junpei (whom she likes)
Hecate - Greek myth - Held many jurisdictions, including magic, dogs, poisonous plants, and witchcraft; usually represented triple-faced or triple figures
Alakazam
Sissel/Sheena - Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective/Tales of Symphonia/Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - Uses his abilities to prevent murders; the 'tricks' themselves are things that cannot be done in real life (i.e. move objects without touching them, manipulation of objects)
She has an arsenal of magic that spans across the elements; supposedly got these abilities from an ancestor that might have been elven, as only elves can use magic
Gwydion/Oya - Welsh/Yoruba myth - trickster god of Welsh origin; he continually tricked his sister in order to skirt around curses his son (born from Gwydion's sister and unknown man) was placed on by her; also knew magic
She is the undergoddess of the Niger River; along with magic, she also commands destruction and whatever consequences follow behind it
Haxorus
Marth/Fir - Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon/Fire Emblem: Sword of Seal - prince of Altea; was forced out of his kingdom and seeks out to reclaim his home by defeating the dark dragon
She is a determined girl who wants to master the way of the sword; she is a part of Roy's army which is wanting to end the insanity of Zephiel and what force is supporting him
Huanglong/Tiamat - Chinese/Babylonian myth - powerful, hornless dragon that represented the emperor; said to represent the change of seasons and the earth element
Chaos dragon that is winged; she gave birth to lesser gods and was killed by Marduk, and her body sent forth heaven and earth
Ferrothorn
Leon/Tabitha - Resident Evil/Tales of Symphonia - On his first day on the police job, Leon must survive a horrific onslaught with the aid of other character; common items in the game involve plants involving HP.
Tabitha is a robot made by a dwarf; she plays a significant role in Martel's resurrection as the guardian of the new Great Mana Tree
Heath/Cassia - Germanic/Chinese myth - The Picts knew a secret recipe from the plant; but, once the conquerors from other Celtic tribes overran them, only a man and his son held the secret. Eventually, the son was killed in order to get the man to reveal, and the man took the secret to his grave.
A Cassia plant was said to grow at the middle of the moon; as punishment for a man who tried to abuse the powers of another plant, he was to try to cut the Cassia plant on the moon for eternity
[Note 1] Don't exactly have these Pokemon yet, but I do have the set-ups for them.
[Note 2] Feel free to ask me about the team and suggest things, if you want.
