Hunger Games video Game

So, with the success of the movie and books, I think there is a good chance there will be a video game. My question is what you think. Do you think that there should be a video game, and if so, how should it be handled? I think that if they have a video game, it should have single and multiplayer options. You create a character in any district, and they are reaped. Based on where they are from they may have certain skill sets. You go through all the stuff, and have the option to create your opening ceremony outfit, or choose a predetermined one. You would then progress to training, where you could improve and learn skills. Next are the private sessions, where you can demonstrate your skills, or not. It would then go to interviews, where you would choose a general "angle" before going into the interview. Based on your angle, you will have a variety of dialogue choices, which can change based on your background. During your stay in the Capitol, you learn about all the different tributes, and can attempt to make allies with them. Next up is a randomly generated arena, which can be anything. Once you have played an arena in one games, you can choose to go through it with a different character or something. There will be various minigames triggered by different actions. Any fighting you get into would hopefully be handled to try and evoke emotion in the player. Each day would last about 30 minutes real time, with night being skip-able, with the possibility of being awakened by a mutt or other tribute. For multiplayer, it would use a lobby system, with each person being randomly assigned a district, then going through the same process, although the overall time may be shortened.

i completely agree. i think it would be great to be able to make your own character and put them through the whole process

That sounds cool, except for the fact that some people would pitch a fit because the tributes are 12- 18. I'd play it.

I'd love for there to be a The Hunger Games videogame, but I think I'd get psyched up for nothing...
It's a given fact that games that come from books/films aren't always let's say ''the best''; for example, nearly every Disney videogame. The few exceptions are the Harry Potter games: 1 - 3 (not the others because, well, they suck).
I can easily imagine there being a game, especially now that the film has come out. And the idea you've given is one that would suit it really well and would probably attract many gamers (even those who haven't even read the hunger games, since the 'action' base of the game is world-widely liked).
But depending on who the game gets given too, it could be a masterpiece or a publicity wreck. Depending on whether they just want some quick cash (because they KNOW that fans will buy the game even if it's bad) or truly want to make a really good game, things could go either way.

The multiplayer would be fantastic if they did it correctly, and I agree with your method of playing for the single player. But for all that to happen during the multiplayer would get boring and unnecessary.. It'd probably be better if you were simply put into an arena straight away, maybe a minute or two to ally with anyone in the lobby and then you're in. There should be different game modes, like the typical capture the flag and a straight out all for all. I'm getting excited just thinking about the possibilities, but there's like an 80% of it being a total fail which is extremely annoying.

If by ''interesting'' you mean terrible, then yeah haha. Oh God.. kinnect games have failed since day 1, the hunger games for kinnect would automatically receive a 0 just because of the platform. (Unless they somehow manage to make kinnect GOOD).

See, I have to disagree on the video game. If they were to make one, it'd have been released around the week before the movie, as it pretty much always happens with video games based on blockbusters. All of that aside though, I don't think Suzanne would approve any video game of this sort. The point she tried to make with the books is totally opposite of what a well-selling video game would entail. The entire book series was based around the idea that violence for entertainment is bad, and making a video game would totally contradict that. While the idea is cool, it'd never happen.

Mattamazing, sorry but I have to disagree. You could use your point of 'violence is bad' with the movie itself. Rather than stopping after the books, they expanded their propaganda by making a film which encourages teenagers to read the books.
In the long run, I guess it does spread out the message of 'violence is bad', but considering they've contradicted themselves due to the amount of publicity they've achieved in such a small amount of time, a game isn't something too difficult to imagine.

I've been calling for a Game ever since the Film was announced. I've been telling everyone who will listen basically what you put in the opening post. However, you only implied it I think, you should be able to create Face, Hair, Physique etc... like you can on FIFA.

You should also be able to choose a Weapon of Choice, and in Training you learn how to fight. No training, you can't fight etc...

I'm a gamer myself and I've been thinking of that idea for awhile now. It would be such a great idea! I don't see how it is encouraging violence, there are many fighting games out there that would be far worse than what The Hunger Games would be like. I think of it more as a survival game than a 'violence' game. But that's just my opinion.
