Appearance:

A rather thin but tall boy, standing only a few inches under 6’. The first thing to catch people’s attention would be his deep blue eyes, which are usually framed with glasses when he’s reading or writing. His face is rather angular with a narrow but prominent jaw line. Next to everyone else he’s unusually pale -- if he were any paler, one might describe him as sickly, but despite being skinny he has a rather sturdy frame thanks to constant training in martial arts. His dust-blond hair is kept short and is sometimes ruffled because of his habit of running his hand through it when he’s nervous or frustrated.

He isn’t exactly what people would call “handsome”; he’s not that much of a looker. Because of his daintier appearance a better word to describe him would be “pretty”, but he still gives the impression of a well-groomed gentleman compared to other Careers. He's usually seen wearing his school uniform: an off-white buttoned shirt, a dark red tie, tan pants, and a navy jacket/coat. His movements are even and steady, with bouts of clumsiness every so often -- he’s mastered quite a few combat techniques, yet manages to fail and drop things during the simplest tasks. It’s moments like that when one can catch a hint of color on his embarrassed face.

Personality:

On the outside he seems like a very quiet and reserved person, always sitting away from others and never talking to anyone; but deep inside he shows a rare kindness and a surprising dedication -- that is, if you can gain his trust. It takes a lot of patience to do so, and many people will never see him smile, let alone laugh; even around close friends and family he’s quiet and reserved. He hides his shyness behind a mask of aloof confidence. In the rare moments when he does show emotion his usually emotionless eyes can seem quite unsettling to others, even those who know him well.

His behavior is cordial almost all of the time, except around family or other friendly people, during which he’ll come out of his cool shell and let his shyness show through. He’s not much of a charmer…in fact, he’s not a charmer: his speech is too formal and there is always the impression of holding something back, even a little suspicion at times. Many girls go after him with the intention of snagging an impressive date to show their peers or parents and end up quite disappointed.

He has impressive dedication to the things that matter to him, but much of the time the only dedication he will show is for his family. He will do anything for them, taking responsibility to look after them and making sure they are always happy. But this also causes him to bottle up his own struggles, which sometimes causes them to worry about him. It’s easy to see through his white lies if you know what you’re looking for.

Although he spends much of his time acting like an adult, there are times when he forgets entirely about a facade and takes on little hobbies to pass the time. As he doesn’t socialize that often and has very few friends, most of his time is spent in the library reading. Despite all the reading he does, he doesn’t bother remembering much of it. He reads solely for entertainment, and only trusts information gained through experience.

History:

He lived a presumably happy life in his early childhood -- there’s no telling, though, because he doesn’t remember it. All he knows is that a nearby factory malfunction is responsible for the death of his parents, and his amnesia is likely a result of that incident. He was then adopted into a family: foster parents and two foster siblings, Orwen and Mahxix.

His already shy nature, along with the trauma of being orphaned and having no earlier memories, was made worse by the fact that he and his foster brothers did not get along very well, with the latter two picking fun at him most of the time. Despite their treatment of him he remained very loyal and protective of his adopted siblings, at one point even about to volunteer in the Reaping to spare Mahxix. Since then they have warmed up to each other and remain emotionally inseparable.

Being a reasonably wealthy boy in District 1 meant that he was expected to train as a career; thus he is very skilled in martial arts and firearms, and specializes in long-range weapons. Despite his skills as a Career, though, he remains very emotionally unstable. Although his situation has since improved with the support of his brothers, he suffered from bouts of depression and suicidal thoughts, with even a few suicide attempts on his record. His friends and family worry that, if he’s Reaped to be in the Games, he may not last very long.
