Jak Andorra, Male, Age 16, District 6

Name: Jak Andorra (The name is pronounced Jake)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District: Six (6)
Appearance: Jak is taller than most people with a simple 6’ 1” height. His body has a medium build; not too much on the range of strength but can run endurance for a while and has the flexibility to pull off the complex twisting and form-fitting that a ninja would need.
Jade likes to wear t-shirts and black cargo shorts. His shoes are almost always black tennis shoes with a great gripping surface. Since age 11 Jak has never been seen without his acorn necklace (see history) and he also wears a bracelet his parents made for him when he was born. It’s the only thing Jak has left to remember them by.
Jak has dark brown hair which often looks black but it’s honestly dark brown. The hair sits on the top of his head, a little wavy but not very much. His face is hardened a little but still retains its soft edges. His eyes are the most abnormal part about Jak; they seem to change color at different times. When it’s dark outside they are a single shade darker than his hair (which I may remind you, looks black). If his body is wet his eyes look more blue than anything. And when it’s bright outside his eyes have a slight yellow tint to them.
Personality: Jak is almost never shy and likes to crack a Joke at things even during serious or intense times, but if there’s a long period of time where he doesn’t speak, it means that he’s thinking of or about something. One simple thing about Jak is that he walks silently. He knows ways of moving all around the district without making a single sound or being spotted mostly though just because he knows the area so well. In a new area he wouldn’t be as good, but close to it.
He loves trees and finds himself at home among them; He also enjoys watching squirrels jump from tree to tree in search of acorns. As far as weapons go Jak doesn’t use anything sharp very well but can wield a bo-staff with no equal. His aerobics aren’t super impressive on a flat land but around buildings, trees, or with a staff his trick ability doubles.
History: Jak’s parents died when he was only 6. They had designed an invention they thought would be useful for the capitol but apparently the inspector didn’t agree. Instead he thought it was designed for use against the capitol. For this reason they were both taken onto the train leading to the capitol so they could be tried with their invention.
Jak and His older brother (by 5 years) were sent to the District’s orphanage where they grew up together. The two boys had only each other in life, well besides the teacher at school who seemed to like the boys and often lent them history books for reading. Jak and his brother absorbed the reading but one time frame seemed to attract the boys with fanatical interest, Feudal Japan. The stories about the Samurai and Ninjas fascinated the boys to the point of complete obsession (as some would call it).
At age 8, Jak and his brother acquired dark clocks and large sticks of wood, which they trimmed down to the size of a Katana to spar with. During the weekends, when they had to travel a long way in the District or whenever they had free time they would climb buildings or go to the small gathering of trees in the district where they could swing and leap from tree to tree. After three (3) years of playing Ninja together, the two boys would sneak out in the middle of the night to explore the district and enjoy the ‘legal’ forest. One day, while traveling through the trees with-in the District’s limits Jak noticed something high up in one of the trees. It was a pair of matching Acorn necklaces. The brothers each took one and dawned it, promising that they would always protect and watch over each other.
The two brothers found another umm…questionable hobby: theft. Sometimes people would leave things of little value lying around and it would be assumed to have been misplaced. The Andorra brothers never stole anything of importance or from anyone who had need, only those who lived in the wealthy part of the district. Often times the brothers would return the next day to replace the objects because, to them, the skill of theft was more important than the actual items they stole.
Only a few years later when Jak reached the age of 13 his brother was caught stealing from the mayor and was forced to flee into the wilderness before the peacekeepers could capture him. Jak tried to follow the next morning and though Jak had never crossed it before he knew that this time the fence was electrified. To even touch the fence would mean gave injury and any more than a few seconds would be fatal. For an entire month the fence was alive with power officially closing the district off from the outside world. When the power died and the fence ceased to buzz Jak knew that it had been too long and his brother had either fled or been captured.
Ever since, Jak has been teaching himself how to live out in the woods alone for short periods of time. In the case his brother returned Jak wanted to flee into the wilderness and survive away from anyone aligned with Panam. Jak has never been very good with weapons of traditional sort but has learned much about trapping, shelter and stealth. He has also taught his body to submit to some degree of pain, endurance, or to overcome whatever challenge (mental or physical) that he may face.

Comments/Other: *Ok, just imagine a traditional Ninja. No fancy Kung Fu, fast shrunken throwing, spectacular flips or anything else that Hollywood messed up in their portrayal. Stealth, observation and mental physiology are Jak’s best features. The only weapon Jak has found he is proficient with is a bo-staff.*
