Cobia is of average height, about 5'6" tall. She is slender but not athletic. She spends a great deal of time outdoors so her skin has a toasty olive tint. Her hair is medium brown and has a natural curl. She wears it up and pulled back most of the time.

Cobia has long limbs and a long torso which she inherited from her mother. Her hips are narrow and boyish, but she is quickly developing a more feminine figure. From her father she got her sullen grey eyes. She dresses plainly but longs for nicer clothes. She smiles often and projects a positive and friendly manner.

Personality:

Cobia is a social girl and she makes friends easily, but she secretly distrusts many of the people in her life. She is a middle child and has most of the emotional difficulties that go along with that. She feels ignored and insignificant at times, she struggles with her own self-identity.

Cobia is generous, but cautious. She nurses her fears inwardly, but outwardly she appears calm and unaffected by most of the hardships and dangers of her daily life. She longs for material possessions but doesn't suffer delusions about her lot in life. She is a practical person.

While Cobia isn't the strongest, fastest or most athletic girl in the district, she has determination and endurance. Her eyesight is keen and she is fast and accurate with her hands. She can spot details that other almost always miss. She is a moderately skilled fisherman and sometimes uses a spear or crossbow for fishing.

History:

Cobia works in the hatchery in district 4. Her job there is to identify species and separate the various fish into holding tanks. She doesn't enjoy her work, but she is grateful to have it.

Her father also works at the hatchery. He is a tall strong man and he's devoted to his family. Her mother once worked on a small fishing vessel as a cook, but fell overboard one evening and nearly drown. Since then, her lungs have never fully recovered and she's unable to work outside the home. She has managed, with the help of her two oldest children, to manage the household chores and look after the youngest child.

Cobia has a sister who is 19 and was recently married to an older, but wealthier former victor in the games. Her sister helps the family as much as she can, but is limited in what she can do for them. Cobia's youngest sibling is a brother who is 8 years old. He is a happy, innocent boy and he is the object of his parents doting affections. Cobia struggles with feelings of love for her brother and resentment over the "special treatment" he receives from their parents.

I do have some experience with play by email and play by post games. I finished "The Hunger Games" a few weeks ago and I'm about half way through "Catching Fire".
