But you didn't have to cut me off
Make it like it never happened and that we were nothing
I don't even need your love, but you treat me like a stranger
And it feels so rough

Poseidon sighed. It was his turn to do dishes at the community home. He was terrible at doing them… he usually made an excuse or even left before it was his time to do dishes, but he didn’t feel like going out today. Poseidon just felt like… nothing, particularly. No doctor would even consider using a instrument washed by Poseidon. The water was boiling hot. The community home never received hot water, but instead boiled their water so it would be hot for dishes and bathing when the kids were in desperate need of it. From either playing in it (mostly the younger kids) or even falling in the mud on a raining day. Either way, it was too expensive for the community home to pay for. When dishes needed to be done, there were particularly a lot to do with all the kids… and they usually use multiple pots and pans that weren’t needed in a regular household. Poseidon felt the soapy water… it reminded him of swimming on a hot summer’s day. He would be all alone… free from the kids and the group… to think of his own needs, to think of what was on his mind. One more pot, Poseidon His mind encouraged him to go on, but the negative side of his brain was saying, plus 4 more plates. Negative, or positive. Which should he listen to?
He scraped the residue off of the pot so hard he thought he might break it. This is what sucked about being one of the older children at the community home. Always having to do dishes, always helping the kids with school (even though they didn’t do well at it, either), making sure they don’t get into any trouble, it was a hassle. Come on, one more dish, one more dish. Then you can be free of this mad house and go swimming. It was technically trespassing, because the pond that he always went to was on someone’s property, or his father’s old home. But, he doubt the new owners even knew their property went back that far, considering it was covered in trees. Poseidon had shown the group it a couple of times, but there were so many twists and turns to get there they had probably forgotten it by now.
Done! His brain mentally said, as he drained the water and threw the soapy sponge in the sink.“Thank god.” He muttered under his breath, and ran to the door. When he opened it, he heard a familiar voice. "Where do you think you're going?" It was Celia. She was walking down the stairs, her red hair in a bow tie and wearing her usual attire: way to small shorts, and a red, plaided shirt. Poseidon swore, she never changed out of it. He wouldn’t be surprised if she actually SLEPT in them. “Ah, just going to run a few errands.” He lied. That was a talent he had, he was surprisingly good at lying and telling stories. “Did you finish the dishes yet?” She raised an eyebrow and looked at him, as if she could tell he was not going to run errands. Celia was good at doing that sort of thing. He nodded, and ran out the door. “Finally!” He smirked, and went down a path. It didn’t even look like a path. In fact, it wasn’t. Poseidon made it, and it led to another path. Which led down to 2 paths, in two different directions. Go left, and you should be able to find it. By this time, he was running down that last path. The lake was in sight, and he smirked, peeling off his shirt. He undid the belt to his jeans, and let the pants slide down his legs, revealing his white boxers. He usually swam like this. It was no big deal. Unless, someone saw him. To make it more narrow, Aphrodite. That was the girl Poseidon had a crush on. It was for her beauty, of course. She was amazing. Everyone knows that, but herself. But if she found Poseidon swimming in his boxers, he would for sure be embarrassed, as she would probably tease him for life about it.
He dived into the lake. It was deep, of course. The cool water touched his skin, and made him sigh in relief. This was his world. Nobody could ever, ever ruin it. Until, he heard a twig snapped. It made him twist around, looking at the direction of the sound. He couldn’t see them. “Hello…?” He whispered. Hopefully it was just his imagination. If he got caught… he didn’t know what he would do. He flapped his arms to keep him up. Shrugging it off, he continued to float himself on top of the water, doing whatever he wanted to.
