[/font]All the pretty little ponies!
On a well-grazed piece of land in District five there is a big converted logging truck, and lots of small paddocks. In this truck somehow fits Mr and Mrs Ferde, and their seven children. Travelling to and from the Capitol to stage their Panem-famous horse show, El Caballo, the original plans to build a house on the property were never fulfilled, and instead all the children have ever known is life cramped inside a ladder-like row of bunk beds. Of course, it doesn’t matter too much, because they’re only here half the year. The other half the family is under their big top in the Capitol, horses in tow, performing for all sorts of strangely dressed Capitolites- even, according to rumour, president Snow. But underneath the caked-on stage make up and yellow and red lights there is so much more depth than one can see simply from the audience. Roll up! Roll up! Be amazed and astounded at the Ferde family and their travelling horses!
The People
Clyde Ferde [Unclaimed/NPC]- Ringmaster- Age 40-something- On stage he is cocky and outgoing, always having to have the last joke, but behind the scenes he is shy and withdrawn, preferring to spend his time with gambling and alcohol. He can be known to get aggressive when drunk, and there are rumors that he is not fussed about giving his kids a good beating if they muck up in performance.
Chyre Ferde [Unclaimed/NPC]- Ringmaster’s wife- Age 40-something- Although stressed to the max, she is the one who really runs the show, despite never appearing on stage herself. When her children were young, she trained all the horses herself, but in recent years she’s found her body refusing to bend in the right directions any longer, and so has handed over the reins to her kids. She still helps breaking in any particularly difficult youngsters, however, and is the one responsible for all the tack, choreography, music, feed, and any other little detail you can think of.
Freisa Ferde [/url] [Meg] - Oldest Daughter- Age 19- Thee is the lead rider in the show. With her two perfect rows of white-light teeth and flowing blonde hair, one might think she was born for the stage- and you wouldn’t be wrong. As soon as she could sit up, she was on her father’s horses in the big tent, so that he could save money by firing one of his hired riders. Currently, Freisa is the star of the show, her solo singing/dressage act always a stunner. However, as she has grown up she’s spent more and more time with boys out the back of the tent, and less time with the horses. Soon, she is thinking that she will leave the horse truck that the crowded family calls home, but she’s staying for the moment because she truly believes that there’s no one talented enough to take her place.
Haff Ferde [Cass]- Oldest son- Age 17- Born with a mental disability, to some Haff comes off as a simpleton. But in his mind, there are many things happening, all of which are far too complex for those around him to understand, leading him to only communicate with his family in grunts. Words, although there, are few and far between. Although he enjoys the company of the horses, it has been considered a waste of time for Haff to learn to ride, and so he does a lot of the mucking out and simple construction work behind stage, repetitive jobs that he enjoys.
Andal Ferde [Semper]- Middle Son- Age 16- Although quite an attractive and clever young man, Andal has one thing on his mind- the horses. He loves the riding, and has spent his whole life trying to improve. He’s with the horses as much as he can be. He prefers working with the young ones off stage rather than being in the spotlight, however his riding ability leaves a lot of the show down to him.
Arden Ferde [Brik]- Middle Daugher- Age 14- Arden is the quiet, smart, good one. As much as her twin brother and sister like getting into trouble, she likes staying out of it. The stage isn’t really her thing, although she’s happy to support the show by helping out here and there. She’s in charge of the show’s finances, and never seems to put a foot wrong in the area.
Teke and Criolo Ferde [Teke- Tattletale, Criolo - Unclaimed]- Middle Twin Son (Criolo) and Daughter (Teke)- Age 13- Like any big family, the Ferdes come complete with their own set of twins- and these guys are real trouble makers. They come complete with their own language and possibly psychic powers, and have been joined at the hip since they were born. They like nothing better than to hoon up and down on their naughty little ponies, and are often nowadays the ones doing the most daring tricks in the show, simply because they always have fun doing them. They’re the sort of kids who are always covered in bumps and bruises and band-aids, but they’ll never be seen with matching grins on their matching faces. NOTE: PB Peyton & Spencer List
Shetty Ferde [Meg] - Youngest Daughter- Age 11- The only time she ever appears on stage is when she’s allowed to fill in with the Shetland pony if the real trick horses go lame, but Shetty doesn’t mind. She loves being behind the scenes, and her real talent is in presentation. She can tame even the wildest of manes and scrub out the blackest of stable stains. Shetty will always be the last one in bed, as it is her responsibility to sweep up after the crowds have left the tent. Being the baby of the family, she often gets overlooked, but she’s got the right calm attitude with the young horses, and could ride very well if she were ever given the chance too.
The Horses[/i][/color][/size]
Bill and Ben - The two jet black Friesian stallions. Not only are they Haute Ecole schooled, they are also one of the main sources of income for the family through their stud fees. These two have performed in pretty much every show for the last decade and a half, and know their job inside and out. They are ridden mostly by Friesa and Andal, although the whole family minus Haff knows how to push their buttons.
Alec, Bart, Kane and Feliz - The Andalusian geldings are trick trained and work beautifully in unison. They seem to feature in most parts of the show.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 - The crazy matching chestnuts that the twins hoon around on, jump flaming logs and crawling under their bellys at a full gallop. Oh, and jumping each other.
Tol - Wider than he is high, Tol is a bit of comic relief that is used when one of the normal horses are lame. He does do some pretty hilarious tricks, though.
On the property in District five there’s always a plethora of young horses being worked to sell as riding horses to the Capitol, however these are the horses that travel too and from shows with the family.
