Age Requested: 13-19
Plot in Mind: It's a normal day in District 4, if you don't think about the reaping being only a few days away. And Yuri would prefer not to. It's that time of year again where her district either gets pumped or put out about the annual Games, and it's an event she is certainly not looking forward to. She's just turned eighteen, the last viable year for being reaped, and the thought of being pulled away now -- with only more year to go until she can finally pull her and her siblings out of the hellhole that is their father's seaside cottage -- is almost too much to bear.

But what's good about the reaping is that it comes with a small blessing: everyone seems to forget that there's work to be done. So, as the rest of her district gets to chatting and betting and cheering, Yuri slips away to the edges of her homeland, and finds herself on the beach. Waves lap hungrily at the shore, grabbing chunks of sand and sweeping them away into the abyss. Yuri flops down onto the sand and lays her head down. The lily amidst a river of black hair dances in the salty wind.

Urgh, she thinks. Just one more year... I need a break.



... will you let poor Yuri go it alone? Or will you become her friend and bring some sunshine to her cloudy day? The rewards of which will be an undying friendship and a girl who simply won't let you get hurt -- by anything. Even if it costs her more than she can pay.


Anyone? More than one person can apply, as well -- having a group of friends beats having just one!

Hey again! I'd simply love to join this, because while my D4 boy has been talking to lots of lady types, he really needs a friend. Like I said (maybe) earlier, I fancy myself an intermediate RPer, but judge for yourself here and here. Those are introductory posts, and I tend to average 400-600 words per regular post. Then again, I emulate the number of words of whoever I'm posting with, so however much you post, I'll try to match.

Hey again indeed! =D I checked out all the links and I don't think we'll have a problem at all. Maverick sounds like a really interesting character; I think the two of them could definitely become close friends -- it seems Maverick needs someone with a good head on her shoulders to be able to let out his anger to, and Yuri definitely needs the same. And they both love being near the ocean, so that's another thing they have in common as well! Yuri will certainly find his family life fascinating as well.

So I think this could work out.

Is there anything in particular you would want to see in their friendship? Let me know.

I won't be on for too much longer today as I have some work to finish, but I will probably end up putting up this topic sometime tomorrow if that works with you. + Anyone else who stumbles over this and would like to join, that extends to you as well!

While there is nothing in particular that I think needs to be there, I do think naturality is an important thing. While Mav's head has been fuzzy around ladies as of late, I still don't want to rush into relationships without giving them foundation. Please don't think I'm implying that you would do that -- I'm not. More like I'm excusing myself for his strong attraction in that post. >.<

And, tomorrow works just fine for me, as I'm up too late tonight as it is. Thanks for extending the invite!

Okay, that's fair enough! I wasn't even thinking of it that way, but I guess anything could happen. No worries. I don't really have anything planned out for her either other than her past, so whatever happens naturally will do for me as well.

You've directed me to this thread, so okay! The thing about Hero, is, well.. he's not much of a people person. He's in his own little bubble of the world and he doesn't notice anyone, really, except when he has to. To come across Yuri at the beach would be a normal experience -- it's a girl, at the water, what else is new? -- but of course I can't have him doing that forever, so I'm thinking he's really, really bored. There's no work to do with everyone slacking off, he's already done his training, so he strikes up a conversation, not out of curiosity -- I think at this point he wouldn't care one bit -- but for something to do. And then who knows. xD Sound alright?

Sounds good to me! XD Yuri, due to her troubled other half, is pretty much at a low-point and would do anything to meet someone new -- no matter their real intention. And then indeed, whatever happens!

Unless, of course, you were meaning they already knew each other? I mean, this is your character plot, and you said you hadn't even thought of it that way, so...

If not, and I'm talking insane things, just let me know. I tend to doubt that people know what I'm talking about after I say it, because sometimes even I don't know.

My original idea was to kind of set as pre-established friendships, I guess? But I'm totally cool with sort of writing out how they started, so it's all good. =D No worries!

And I'm sorry that the topic is taking a while to go up; I have about 75% of the opening post written, t just needs an ending. I'll put it up tomorrow morning (no more delays, I promise ;_; so sorry about that) as I was visited by friends by surprise tonight.. XD;
