The Sweet Flowers of District 1
In District 1 there lives eight privileged men and women. They know that they are privileged and take full advantage of what they have and more. These young men and women are known as the flowers of District 1 for they embody the symbolism for the flowers that they are named.
Magnolia - 17 female - reserved - The magnolia is associated with nobility: Magnolia is very flirtatious and enjoys flaunting her pretty face to the boy's and men of her district. She is confident in herself and her appearance and wears it well. She is out going, charismatic, and talkative earning the attention of many. Magnolia prides herself in the fact that she is likable and charming and thinks it is by far her best attribute. Magnolia likes to flirt with the boys but believes in chastity more than anything often leading them on and going to certain points with them and then cutting them off completely. She says this is because she wears an imaginary chastity belt and refuses to give herself to anyone, but is fine with flaunting everything she has as long as no one touches.
Despite the fact that she is so charismatic and likable, Magnolia is mean. She is condescending and does not like anyone that she could consider lower than herself. The poor, the lower districts, they are all beneath her and not worthy of her attention. If they do gain her attention somehow, she only looks at them to tell them that they are worthless and are not worthy of her. On the outside she is warm, bubbly, and sweet as sugar, but on the inside she is truly cold-hearted and condescending.[/color][/i]
Lupine - 15 male - open - Lupines are symbolic of imagination. It comes from the name "lupinus" which means "of wolves" and used to be believed to steal nutrients from the soil: Lupine is a seemingly sweet, charming boy with a wild imagination and a thirst for adventure that his fellow district members adore. He is a thief though, often attempting to steal from his neighbors. He tries to gain the persons trust, perhaps by pretending to be in love with their daughter or be their son's best friend while stealing things from their home. He is a devilish young man is sweet like honey at first but his smile is not that of charm but of wicked plotting as his wild imagination runs about. His twin brother, Nasturtium sometimes helps him with these conquests.[/color][/i]
Lotus - 18 female - open - Lotus is associated with estranged love and forgetfulness of the past.: Lotus is an extremely intelligent women with sharp eyes. She is very distant and a bit alienated from the rest of the group. Despite her intelligence and scary attention to detail, she is also very forgetful and will often ask people to repeat what they have said before it finally sinks in for her. [/color]
Nasturtium - 15 male - open - Nasturtium is victory in battle and conquest. It literally means "nose-twister".: Nasturtium is a career who spends more time training in hopes of volunteering for the Games then he does actually talking to people. He is cold and calculated, but much like his twin brother, he has a very charming, wicked side. He has a natural likability about of him that makes him easy to trust, but like his brother he is more a wolf in ships clothing then anything. His twin brother, Lupine, often requests his help when stealing.[/color]
Honeysuckle - 16 female - open - Honeysuckle is bond of love and I love you. Wood cuttings from honeysuckle are sold as cat toys: Honeysuckle is dreamer and a romantic who believes that her true love is out there somewhere (hopefully in her own district). She is sweet, but a bit shy and easily flustered. Honeysuckle is also very, very trusting and the others use her for their own personal gain on a daily basis. She is very emotional and easily hurt. [/color][/i]
Hyacinth - 17 male - open - Hyacinth is associated with games, sports, rashness, and playful joy. Hyacinth is a lovable, easy going guy. He is laid-back and often encouraging his friends to just go with the flow rather than being so uptight with everything. He doesn't really care with what goes on and is numb to his surroundings as well as his actions not caring or truly realizing how they effect himself or others. He is very talented in sports and loves games of every sort. [/color]
Gladiolus - 15 female - open - Gladiolus is associated with preparedness, strength, splendid beauty and love at first sight. It is named for the shape of its leaves, "glades" or sword.: Gladiolus is quiet, a fighter more than a lover. She, like Nasturtium, is a career and spends more time training for the Hunger Games then she does anything else. At times she comes off as cruel, heartless, more focused on fighting then family or friends. All her ideals revolve around being prepared as best as possible for every single situation that ever may arrive. [/color]
Calendula - 18 male - open - Associated with grief, despair, and sorrow. It is also used to cure many ailments such as sore eyes and toothaches.: Calendula is very quiet and reserved, finding solace in one person rather than the group as a whole. He often finds himself subject to mood swings in which he will become extremely angry or deliriously happy for no reason only to return to his ever consistent depression. Despite his depression, others come to him to talk and let out their feelings. He is a surprisingly good listener and often can give good advice to those who truly seek it. [/color]Character Wanted:
