Welcome to the Decathlon tournament of the very first Panem Olympic Games! The track and field complex is located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The execution of this event is somewhat more difficult than the other events. Feel free to roleplay your character making their jumps, warming up, etc as you would normally. However, instead of pasting a single code in once, you will be pasting different codes in for success/failure at different heights. You will have three chances to clear each height.

Everyone clears the 1.50m jump automatically. You get three tries to clear each following jump, with the odds getting worse for success each time. You will need to edit your post each time for multiple jumps / to add the next jump. BE SURE TO LABEL YOUR JUMPS. Here are the odds:

Topaz had done decently in the mile; nothing to marvel at, but much, much better than she'd done in any of the other running events. She still couldn't believe she'd screwed those up so bad; maybe she was better at distance running. It sure seemed that way. Besides, the mile hadn't winded her too much, because she'd moved at her own pace. Now she'd be going back to more jumping events; first high jump, then pole vault. She was unsure of how she felt about those two; she'd done pretty well in long jump, so hopefully her jumping ability was still up to par. When her turn came, she took a deep breath and prepared herself.

Clearing the 1.5m jump was easy; she did that quickly and easily with a smirk that suggested she was inviting much more of a challenge. Surely the 1.55m would be just as easy; the rest would be up in the air. But she'd give it her best shot, as she always did; the champion wouldn't settle for anything less.

NYKLUS MOALKIS, DISTRICT TWO

Getting eighth in the 800IM was a setback to me. Sure, swimming was as useful to myself as a kid in District Four, but I still know how to. I learned to swim in my uncle's pool and apparently I'm one of the best swimmers in District Two, even though I got last. Like I said before, swimming isn't useful to me, and neither is jumping. I mean sure, sometimes you'll have to hop over a mud puddle or jump up to reach something in the kitchen on the highest shelf. But I guess it's a skill being able to jump high. And I guess we'll find out if it's a skill I have.

At first, I thought I might of had a chance, but shortly, I started to fade out. I barely made it over the 1.65 meter jump. The 1.7 meter jump came easier, I guess because I got momentum, but then I didn't clear the 1.75 meter jump. Well, I guess jumping isn't my strong suit.

The mile had been blown out of proportion, but at least she’d redeemed herself a bit after the four-hundred meter run. It seemed she had failed to pace herself during the mile and had drained the remainder of her energy before she could pass the finish line. She was slightly discouraged at the her disappointing time, but she did not dwell upon the subject for too long. After witnessing others passing the finish line before her she had gathered the last few scraps of spare energy stashed away in her system and dashed at a quicker speed to prevent the rest of the sprinters from catching up to her at the last second. When catching her breath, she’d shrugged at the standings and gulped water like it was her only lifeline, then sauntered off of the field as if not a care in the world could plague her.

On the other hand, during the four-hundred meter run plenty of the players had eaten her dust. She hadn’t rubbed it in too much, but her chest had swelled with pride at the thought of achieving another small victory. It was an intriguing turn of events indeed, and with the upcoming event close to commencement she was curious to see how her odds would play out. The high jump. 1.55m was presented as her first opponent, and with a graceful leap she dominated it with little effort. It was the next series of jumps that would prove to be more of a challenge, and locust accepted it gladly with open arms.

It had reached the end of the competition — the last event — and Tiger was unsure as to exactly where he stood. He'd done fairly well in a handful of events, but he'd absolutely tanked at others. It was important that he do well on the high jump, because he was fairly certain that succeeding in this last event was the only way he could still medal. He'd done a mediocre job at pole vault, but somehow he didn't have a very good feeling about high jump. After all, like many of the events that comprised the decathlon, Tiger couldn't come up with a scenario where hurling yourself over a two-meter bar and flopping down on your back would actually be useful.

He took a deep breath and lined up on the right side before charging at the high jump bar.

Jumping. Something that Scarlette had already surprised people with once, but her small height was certain to hinder her in the high jump, where the higher you get, the better. She was ready to try though, and in her mind success was still the only option. This was her chance to escape. It was her chance to finally get her mother's icy claws off of her, and teach herself, the way she wanted to. It wasn't like she didn't know what she was doing! She'd grown up learning how to execute things like this, well, not jumping, as much as other things, but the point was that she knew what she was doing, and she didn't need anybody to tell her otherwise.
