Welcome to the Decathlon tournament of the very first Panem Olympic Games! The track and field complex is located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The execution of this event is somewhat more difficult than the other events. Feel free to roleplay your character making their vaults, warming up, etc as you would normally. However, instead of pasting a single code in once, you will be pasting different codes in for success/failure at different heights. You will have three chances to clear each height.

Everyone clears the 4.60m jump automatically. You get three tries to clear each following vault, with the odds getting worse for success each time. You will need to edit your post each time for multiple vaults / to add the next jump. BE SURE TO LABEL YOUR VAULTS. Here are the odds:

There was something mildly terrifying about using a fifteen-foot pole to hurl himself into the air, but Tiger Rex took the pole vault to be an exhilarating challenge rather than anything to be afraid of. Even disregarding his career training, the broad ginger was a risk taker by nature, eager to engage in the thrill of propelling himself through the air on a giant stick. Pole vaulting was one of the last events, meaning that if he wanted to clinch a medal, he'd need to perform at the top of his game.

He'd stretched a lot prior to his jumps, knowing that it would take a lot of flexibility to maneuver his bulky frame over the bar. He was a little bit concerned that he'd go up only to drop right back down, missing the mat on the other side of the set up. That definitely wouldn't feel too good. With a deep breath, Tiger took off down the runway, sticking the pole in the box entirely ready for take-off.

The high jump hadn't gone well. She was sure plenty of people scored higher than her, though she wasn't sure because she'd avoided looking at the scoreboard after she'd embarrassingly been unable to clear the easy one point eight meter jump after three futile tries, instead choosing to sit on the grass and sulk. She'd been doing so well! What had happened! Now it was time for the pole vault, and the victor was sure her dismal attitude wouldn't do anything to help her win this one, either. Basically? She was screwed.

Locust sighed. She had previously awaited anxiously for the pole vaulting event to occur, but now that she was staring it down, face to face, with an audience that wouldn’t give her a second glance after her last embarrassing moment, she was losing her ability to find inner confidence. Bombing the high jump at 1.60m? What was she, a child? She was supposed to be an amazing jumper. She’d practiced, she’d perfected it. And then she’d gone and screwed up in front of hundreds of spectators, some of whom had even laughed at her pathetic performance. She had, after all, only survived the first two jumps while Topaz - the competitor before her - had lasted to the 1.8m. What the hell is wrong with you, Locust? Pull yourself together!

If she didn’t score high enough this time, she figured she might as well just drop out before she brought more shame upon herself. Clearing her throat and narrowing her blazing eyes, she launched herself forward and prepared to either pass or fail.

She didn't know why, but she'd been particularly excited for this event. Something about it enticed Scarlette to the point that she actually looked forward to it. Of course she'd never admit it, she had an image, a reputation, and excitement was only acceptable when it was focused on the Games, or training for them. In a way, this was like training for them. She was being put to the test, and she'd been able to see what areas she needed work on, and which areas she excelled in. Now it was her name that was being called, meaning she was next. She walked onto the flat ground, and observed her surroundings. As she felt the pole's weight in her hands, she charged forward.
