Appearance:
There is a promise in Circe's eyes that no matter what you do, it will never be good enough for her. It was a look learned at a young age, before she could even defend herself. And it has only improved with time. Circe is keenly aware that the right smirk, the right fall of her lashes or the uptick of her lips can change the power balance in a conversation. Her eyes are one of her best features, and she uses them to her advantage. It is not a question of if Circe is wearing eyeliner at any given moment, but how much and what color. A bit of black of navy blue help to pronounce her displeasure.Personality:
As she has matured they have settled from hazel to a pale green, a disappointment in comparison to her brother's. She doesn't often compare herself to her twin, except in looks. They have diversified their interest, their personalities. And yet genetics are insurmountable. Not that Circe minds. She loves him, after all. It's just strange to look so much like someone of the opposite sex. Strange, and sometimes insulting. She has called upon her twin more than once to defend her honor after being unfavorably compared to him.
Lucky for her she's not quite the beast he is. She stands at a respectable 5'7", mostly leg and very slender shoulders. Every year her hips seem to get a bit wider, which was troubling at first, but now reminds her that she is, in fact, a woman. As she has grown into her figure, Circe has begun to embrace it, to clothe herself in tight swaths of color, in patterns that bring out her hips and nearly there chest. Circe is not a woman who uses her looks to get what she wants - generally her quick wit does that for her - but she's not above a little sway of the hips either.
[Katie Cassidy]
All she needs is an excuse to use her silver tongue. It can be sweet and silky, a lover's voice, or edged as sharp as a blade. Circe might be conscious of her looks, but she is better at oral manipulation. Give her a podium and Circe can make you her bitch in an under an hour. It's a gift and a skill, one that she has cultivated over years in school, learning which rumors work best, who had the most power to swing around. All of it, she figured, was done for the greater good of the Lyon family.History:
Because she protects them fiercely. All of them. There is no one more interested in the well being of the Lyon family than Circe. She sees it as her sworn duty to be sure that they all flourish and succeed, a mother before her time. But she also understands that any glory bestowed on a Lyon reflects well on her, even if she is not the one gaining the accolades.
So she's always the first one at family functions, the sister that attends the training matches, no matter how insignificant. She'll hound her siblings about their homework and their right hooks, and perhaps that's a job for their parents, but Circe doesn't trust that they believe quite the way she does.
Of course, she has her own preferences and predictions. Jaime is the most likely of any of them to win, and the one she can least afford to lose. The thought of sacrificing him to the arena makes bile rise in her throat. It is the only thing she cannot stand about the Games. Not that he would lose. Not that he could. Jaime is gifted. But still. Sometimes the Games are not about skill. Just look at all the lower district victors.
And they absolutely disgust her. Anyone outside of a Career district can hang, as far as she's concerned. She loves her family, loves her country, and will see anyone trying to destroy it burned at the stake.
[Cersei Lannister]
It's little wonder that the first pairing of Mr. and Mrs. Lyon resulted in twins. After all, two is always better than one, and Mr. Lyon is the best at everything he does. Everything. There might be rumors to the contrary, but they are only housewife gossip. He was born of a line of Careers, and so too shall his children, and their children, and so on. That was the mantra of the Lyon household, drilled into each child, into Circe and Jaime although they came into the world as one-half of a pair.Codeword: Odair
That worked to their advantage. For awhile they were the only children in the Lyon household, and that brought a lot of scrutiny, even as toddlers. But they always had each other to rely on, to lie when the other was sick, or to finish a homework assignment. Of course, things became significantly easier when it was clear that Tyrion wasn't going to grow any more. Then the pressure came off the twins, and they flourished into two perfect terrors.
Circe's life has been defined by her brother, more so than most. Yes the Lyon name carries with it a certain meaning and responsibility. And yes, she loves and defends her siblings. But she would give it all up for Jaime. Those feelings are still treacherous, scandalous, buried. But she knows in the depths of her heart that no one will ever rival her twin. That is a love that burns ever brighter. She is coming to terms with it, to what it will mean for her future.
But she has not given up hope for any future. Not yet. She is still reaping eligible, she is still beautiful and strong, she is still trained to within an inch of her life. And Circe will go down fighting.
