Appearance:

Kateri is tall for her age, standing above most other girls. She is quiet slim due to starvation but not anorexic due to her own resourcefulness at finding ways to survive. Her skin is an olive tanned tone with a small sprinkling of freckles across the nose, marking her as having a different heritage than most. From far away her eyes may appear blue but close up they are a hazel green color while her pupils appear to be ringed in liquid gold. Her hair mostly brunette has natural strands of blonde, auburn and ebony visible in the sun. The colder the weather the darker her hair is.

Personality:

Always curious, Kateri has a hunger for knowledge, which is very rarely fufiled. She would spend all day reading if she could. She is very cunning. Luckily she loves electronics considering the district she lives in. Kateri becomes very nervous when asked questions, despite being highly intelligent, afraid she will answer incorrectly, fearing punishment. She is very quiet, impulsive and becomes upset quickly over what can seem insignificant to others. Despite her introverted personality, she can be quiet fierce and will do anything to survive, including using people for information. Other trait in Kateri's personality is slight sadism , once she 'snaps' she enjoys inflicting pain on others whether physical or emotional, as a way of channeling rage that is inflicted on her due to her past. She suffers mood swings when upset going from depressed to angry quickly. Due to her personality she has little to none friends, likes to keep to herself and finds it hard to trust others. Very rarely she displays joy or other positive emotions, because whatever good happens to her usually is only temporary and she doesn't want to get her hopes up just to be let down. She is very stubborn and determined and will hold on to something as long as she can whether it's physicaly or otherwise. Kateri is very resourceful and tries to make full use of her surroundings. Despite the moodswings Kateri's main state of mind is blank due to this she often appears to be 'daydreaming'.

History:

Kateri is an only child, as her mother, Helesi, died soon after Kateri was born. Kateri has an aunt named Aloeis who moved in with her father, Cion, after Aloeis's husband died in a factory accident. Growing up Kateri was shunned by her father who blamed his wife's death on Kateri. As she got older Kateri was emotionaly abused and neglected, her aunt too frightend to step in, it continued. Kateri's only cousin died in the games, Kateri was too young to volunteer. To avoid her father's wrath she learned to sprint small distances, but not much longer due to her damaged lungs from air pollution in District 3. Not much has happened since.
