Lexi Kiko woke up to the sun shining into her small room in her small house. She didn't want to get up but she knew she had to. She start to stir when she heard a creak in the floorboards by her door. She knew that her father might be behind her door. So, she acted like she was still asleep.

She heard her door open and close. She turned around towards her door and opened her eyes just a crack. She saw nobody in her room so she sighed and started to get up. She threw her covers over the other side of her bed. Her brown, matted hair was all over the place from her sleep. She sat on the edge of her bed and streched.

Lexi got up at walked to her bedroom door and opened it a crack. She looked around and saw nobody. She went back into her room to see a note by her door on her night-stand.

It read:

Dear Lexi,
If you are reading this, that means that you woke up before we got back. Your mother has gone out to the store and I have gone to the mines. Your mother will be home soon.
Love you sweetie,
Dad and Mom

Lexi sighed at the note. She knew that her parents might do this to her. But, she wasn't surprised so she got her clothes on and left her room. She walked around to her living room table and saw a small slice of bread of her breakfast. She took it and slowly ate it.

After she was done eating her breakfast, she grabbed her torn and worn-out bag and left the house. She walked down the street to see many people out this time of day. It was early in the morning seeing that the sun was just rising. But, she didn't care. As long as she was outside she was just fine.

Lexi lowered her head and walked around everybody. She stopped at a person she was about to bump into. Lexi looked up and decided to talk for the first time this morning.

"H-hello." Lexi mentally cursed herself for studdering and decided to go on anyways. "My n-name is Lexi. What i-is yours?" Lexi studdered slightly.

Lexi started to move her big and brown eyes over the crowd to advert them from the person in front of her. Her brown hair was matted still from her not brushing it.

The morning sun did lots of people good. The bright yellow ball of light that shone over the district, it wakes people up. It also wakes them up and reminds them of how horrible their life is when woken up. Lance could not take anymore terrible news which had put him in a pissy mood. The usual smirk on his face was replaced with a growl that he would throw at anyone that looked at him as he sat up from the uncomfortable sleep outside.

I have to give a pregnant lady my bed and my girlfriend does not even know!? The problems in his life seemed to add up quickly just because he met his ex-girlfriend who he had slept with before and now the baby. How could it get any worst? As he moved upwards from his make shift bed of a piece of log and extra blanket, he look like a wet cat. With the growl on his face and matted hair, it took a few combs with his hands to at less calm it down.

And guess what I have to do? Oh ya head to the hob just so I can get a meal because she had to eat all my food. If the girl was not pregnant he would throw out, just pick her up and toss her out. Unlike a gentlemen that he usually could be but all he wanted now was his at least a little bit soft bed and his other paper thin blanket to keep the bugs off him.

As he went along the street, he could not help but spy at people. The people that rise early like him and stay up for longer then they have too. Girls with long hair and short hair with no bump in their belly. Elders with a lack of teeth and very skinny. His eyes caught sight of a girl who was about to walk into her just in time as he stopped suddenly and watched the girl peer up at him. Oh great, is she going to say she is my ex and now she’s pregnant?

With his mind occupy he barley heard the girl, Lexi stutter out her name and a greeting. Should he stay? I have things to do, like moving her out of the way. He took another look at her matted hair and shy looks and threw that idea in the mental trashcan. “I’m Lance,” He gave her his hand and shook slowly, taking it back it quickly. “I’m sorry I won’t be able to talk about it, I have some problems in my life that I just want to get rid of.” He found himself telling her more then he expected. At least this girl is not pregnant.

Lexi looked back up at the guy named Lance. He seemed like a very nice guy who had a lot on his plate. She didn't want to add to it, but she wanted someone to talk to. She thought that maybe she could put him in a good mood. She thought that just maybe if she could get him to talk, he would be calm and talk to her.

It's worth a shot, Lexi thought to herself. She calmed down her rapid intakes of air and looked around to make sure that she wouldn't studder. She had a habbit of doing this when she was trying to talk to someone and this was her way of trying to stop the studder. She knew it might not work, but she had to give it a try.

"D-do you want to t-talk about them?" Lexi got mad at herself for studdering again. She knew it wasn't something she could control but she tried to anyways by letting out a long and slow sigh before continuing by looking up at him. "I-I heard that talking a-about stuff helps the p-person."

Lexi started to advert her eyes again because she didn't want Lance to look straight into her eyes and laugh at her. She just wanted someone to talk to and if she had to listen to him, she would be happy. Just as long as she was by someone. Lexi would have liked him to become her friend because that might have been what she needed to make her studder go away.

But, maybe that would only make it worse. She looked around to trying and find her mother, to see if she were wondering the streets in attempt to find the things she needed. But, Lexi didn't see her, making her a bit more calm about things. She didn't know how her mother would act, so she thought that this was a good sign.

She looked back up at Lance and awaited his response to her thought. But, maybe he wouldn't. But, Lexi just had to wait to see. Nothing would go wrong if he would just say yes. At least, she hoped nothing would go wrong.

What could be better? Being alone or talking to a random stranger met on the street. The second choice was better, he just needed to get it out. Even though he was horrible getting things off his chest, it was needed to be told. But not into much detail, none at all.

"Yes, I do want to talk about it. Everything is just not going my way. You know why? I find out my ex is pregeant. I am going to take care of the baby but I don't want anything to do with her. Yes, I don't, but I am not cruel! So don't you even think that. But I want to keep a steady life with my new girlfriend, one that would not run away from me after I kissed them. Now please tell me how you can help? You can not help no one can!" His voice was mixed with rage and sadness but quickly went down the sadness as he covered his face.

As Lance was practically shouting at Lexi, she listened. She knew that he needed help, she just had this feeling. But, she knew that she couldn't help no matter what she wanted to do. However, something inside Lexi was pushing her to say something to him to reasure him that everything would be ok.

"Are-are you sure th-that you can't h-have both wor-worlds?" Lexi studdered once more towards him in her sentence. She knew that nothing would stop her nervousness but she had to try and she had to keep going, there was no stopping now. "I-I am very s-sorry about your pre-predicament. B-b-but you can't keep h-hiding in the sh-shadows. You-you need to sta-stand up for yourself and show ev-everybody that you don't hi-hide from big things like this." Lexi bowed her head to avoid his eyes looking at her and disapproving what she said.

Lexi started to think again about how she would feel in this type of situation, but she couldn't because she would be the one pregnant. However, Lexi wouldn't be so clumsy as to get pregnant. She knew better than to have sex but, then again, what did she know. She might just as well fall victim to it like this girl did.

But, Lexi couldn't let this get her thinking too much because she had to focus on Lance and what he was saying, while trying to avoid his accusing eyes. Well, what she thought might have become accusing from her talking.
