History

Louise Young was a young girl from district six when she met Joseph Zimmer. The two of them were both fourteen years old, and met while walking home from school. After a few weeks of getting to know each other, they decided to begin dating. Love blossomed soon after like, and four years later, Joseph proposed to her the month before their last reaping. After consummating their marriage, Louise was pregnant.

The next month came around, and they both were preparing for their last reaping. First came the ladies. It wasn’t Louise. Then, came the boys. It was Joseph. Screaming and crying, Louise clung to her husband, asking for volunteers, and they didn’t come. After they said their last goodbyes, Louise went back to her house in tears. A month passed before the games, and in that time, she found out she was carrying his baby. When she saw Joseph on television talking about her during the interviews, she fell into tears once more, wanting her husband back home.

The nights passed, and the day of the game, she watched her husband escape the first big bloodbath with a large knife. She just hoped he would be okay. When it was down to eight left, her husband was one of them. He’d killed three people so far – a girl from District twelve, a boy from District four, and another girl from district nine. The numbers slowly decreased, and when it was down to three, Joseph was one of them, along with fellow tributes Lillian, a girl from District two and Hunter, a boy from District nine. Hunter went down first, killed by Lillian, and then there were two. When the time came, the finale began with the mutt breeds between bees and giant praying mantis. The large creature had both Lillian and Joseph in its grip, when Joseph stabbed the creature. Though, Lillian was stung in the process, being poisoned. Joseph watched her die with weary eyes, sad that the thirteen year old girl had died before his eyes. Joseph returned home as the victor, and gave all the money to his neighbors who needed it more. He became a chemist in District six, where he watched his little daughter come into his life.

Ophelia grew up in District six, like both of her parents, with a nice life. Her father made money from his job, and her mother was always around to help her, working as a housewife. She had her mother’s red hair and her father’s blue eyes, and was loved greatly by both of them. She went to school like a normal girl, getting an education while learning at home what the capitol was really like. She was a smart little girl, according to her teachers, but often wasn’t socially correct. Ophelia had a new little brother by the time she was eight, named Ryder. She loved him with all her heart, and never wanted him to be alone in the world. When Ophelia turned twelve, she was forced into the reaping. She hated the idea of being chosen, because all she was good at was hiding in small spaces and tying knots. When she wasn’t chosen, she was so glad, and she returned home with hr parents.

Ophelia took on the family business of chemistry, where her father taught her the basics, like which acids to mix with bases, and how to create simple medicines with plants. She gained a great knowledge from this, and would often pick aloe and poppy seeds for the homemade medicine.
