Appearance:

Jayda is a slender, short girl with long ruby red hair and emerald green eyes. In the sunlight her hair looks like a fire, making it hard for her to hide from anyone. She has a long scar running up her arm, from a failed suicide attempt. Her green eyes show little emotion, only when they are extreme. She has pale white skin, that never seems to tan even when she spends ours on her boat.

Personality:

Jayda's a cynical and pessimistic person sometimes, she can't understand how the world got the way it is. Evil, blood-thirsty. Her parents raised her to respect authority, and she did. But she disagreed with the Capitol. She hates that they kill] children. But she has good points too, a wicked sense of humor, and she's kind. Well, most of the time. She tries to hide her emotions, but they shine through her emerald green eyes.

History:

Jayda was born into a fisherman's family, they lived for the sea. Jayda knew how to swim for as long as she could remember, and could sail about that long. She excelled in school, finishing at 15. She devours books, any books she can find. One day her father was working, gutting fish, when he slipped on something, nobody knew what, and fell onto his own knife. Jayda's mother had fallen ill when she was very young and died, so a 13 year old Jayda was alone. She didn't know what to do, she had enough money to last a couple of years if she signed up for tessare, so she did. Somehow her name was never called at reapings, and she graduated a few years later-early. She went to work in her father's trade, a rare thing for a woman to do. Jayda did well with all the extra fish coming in. The summer she turned 16... she fell in love. His name was Chase, and he was everything she wasn't; wild, free, untamed. They were joined at the hip for the whole summer. But fall came, as it always does, and Chase left her. He'd said she wasn't good enough for him, that he'd found a prettier girl and was going to marry her. Jayda was devistated, she'd even up everything to him. They'd lived together for the past months, and when he left he didn't even bother to take his things with him- just all the money. So Jayda was now alone, with no money... and pregnant as she'd later find out. How could she bring a child into this world?!? It was bad enough she was stuck in it. So she did what she thought was the only option, she tried to kill herself. She knew it was wrong, and it would kill her baby too, but it looked like it was the only way out. She failed though, a neighbor had found her bloody and unconscious with a fish knife in her hand. They'd revived her, nursed her back to health. But never asked any questions, they just let her be. Nobody knew she was pregnant... yet. But they all knew about Chase, how they'd lived together, and how he'd left her. She doesn't know what she's gonna do, or how she's going to provide for a baby alone, but she wants to live. Almost dieing shook her up and made her see what she really wanted in life. But she still gets depressed easily.
