[/center]President Snow was dissatisfied. The Hunger Games were a wonderful show of power and strength, but the fact that they only came once a year was displeasing to him. What was there to quell the building spark in the districts the rest of the time? The victory tour? No, that wasn’t enough. And on top of that, his city could use more entertainment. As he sat down, alone as per usual, at his dining table for dinner, he mulled over a few options in his head. What was an entertaining way to keep the districts busy? Competition, surely. Naturally, his thoughts traveled to sports. A sporting event! But what kind? And which districts were worthy enough to participate? Of course, there were only three that would even stand a chance: 1, 2, and 4. They trained for the Games, though that sort of thing wasn’t technically permitted. Those youths were more than adept at fighting, so why should they not excel in sport? It was at that moment that President Snow decided it: Panem would host its very first mass sporting event, like the Olympic Games of old.
It could be held in the Capitol, he supposed, but being there was a privilege reserved for the lucky tributes in the Hunger Games. So who would host it? Well, District 4, of course; they had pools, the ocean, and a beach for water sports, as well as the typical Career training facilities for other things. It would be much easier there than anywhere else. Snow polished off his dinner with a diabolical smile. Tomorrow, he would begin making his plan a reality. And perhaps this new kind of Games would prove once and for all which District really was the best.THE PANEM OLYMPICS
