Sometime after the sun has risen but before the heat has kicked in, you wake to rustling. For some reason, you aren't too worried about the noise—until you open your eyes and see a herd of tiny white mutts picking at your items. Shouting angrily, you scramble to shove your remaining belongings out of the way. You put yourself between the items and the mutts and brandish your favored weapon, but they only stare at you dolefully. After a while you start to feel silly. When you lower your weapon they continue to stare, and you slowly edge toward your items so you can check to see what they actually took.
The moment you look away, they flee. With another shout you give chase. It's harder than you'd think; they're small but they're quick, and you're juggling the remainder of your inventory. You keep going anyway. It doesn't feel like you have a choice; you want every possible advantage as you head into the final stretch of the Games. Besides, they won't put up much resistance when you do catch up; what is there to lose?
They tire before you do and, as you expected, surrender your things with reluctance but no hostility. Then they vanish. You hold your breath as you put your back against a tree and peer through the foliage. Your weapon is in your hands before you've consciously registered that whatever is moving through the undergrowth is larger than the thieves, and something—instinct, dread, anticipation—makes your stomach churn. Wherever you are, whatever is waiting, you think you've reached the end of the line.
Congratulations on surviving to the finale, tributes! Pardon the Kodama peeking out from the trees; they won't bother you. They're peaceful creatures. Really. All they wanted was to stop the fighting; failing that, they're only waiting to carry away your dead respectfully. Worry more about your fellow tributes:
Cricket Antoinette: 0 damage
Stealth
River Destin: 1 damage
Stealth, Blades
Gypsi Keeni: 1.5 damage
Stealth
Pyrian Keeni: 0 damage
Stealth
Take as long as you need, but otherwise treat this as a normal fight. Good luck!
Let the end of the 63rd Hunger Games Begin!
