Does, Says, Thinks
He took a deep breath and put on a gentle smile for the woman who sat at the desk. She was the one who would give him the card that would say he could leave the institute for today. It would expire at nne tonight, which meant he had to be back by then or the Peacekeepers would be called to round him up. Of course, he never spent that much time out, there wasn't all that much to do that he couldn't do another time. Besides, this way it meant that he could get out more times. Causing trouble just meant he would be locked up with even less privileges than he normally had.
As it was, he already had little interaction with anyone aside from the caretakers. Everyone else seemed to bring out Logan or Levan, but Lance and Liam were the ones who always got the freedoms. Therefore, it was better when he stayed away from everyone else. Right now, he was aware of all four of himself, and he made sure that Logan, Levan and even Liam were buried at this point. None of them would help him win over the woman in front of him and get him the card that would allow him to explore.
It didn't take him long until he was granted the pass to leave the institute for the day. He thanked the woman kindly and walked to the door, swiping the card in order to unlock the door. Exiting, he placed the card in his pocket and breathed in the air, fresh and not stuffy like the air inside felt like. In reality it was actually purer air inside than out here, but outside it was filled with more life, and that's what he really enjoyed. Liam sent a shock of joy through him, excited to be out and wanting to take over. He just wanted to explore. But no, he would have to wait. Liam would pose no problem, as long as he remembered the nine pm limit. Of course, Lance could take hold at any time in case anything were to happen.
It wasn't until he was a decent way away from the institute that he consulted the other parts of himself, seeing how they were enjoying being out. Logan didn't much like how people seemed to be staring, and Levan just liked the idea of freedom. No, it would be best they stayed down. Of course the Capitolites were staring, he wasn't dressed in their funky colours with crazy hair styles and odd features. The institute would not perform operations of the superficial type, and he had never wanted to undergo one, as any of himself.
Where should he go? The list of things he could do played through his mind, he scratched things out as he compared them to the list of rules that he had been once again reminded of as the woman at the desk had handed him the pass. Finally, he selected one, deciding to go and visit the market. He wouldn't be able to buy anything, having no money, but it would be nice to go look at things. Maybe find something shiny to occupy Liam's attention. Logan grumbled about hating crowds and Levan muttered something about hating people in general. Lance just clamped down on them and only let Liam have a say. Liam was excited at the prospect of something shiny, and he wanted to hurry.
After a little while, the sound of many people reached his ears, making Logan and Levan grumble and mutter. Lance hushed them and continued on, reaching the edge of crowd in only a short time. He was about to move forward when a girl cut him off, knocking into him and making him stumble. Levan internally yelled at her, wanting to shove her. Lance tried to push him away, but Levan had been grumpy at the idea of dealing with people, and bumping into this girl wasn't helping. Lance ignored him. "Oh, excuse me. I didn't see you there." His voice was calm and kind, for all that Levan was screaming at him that he shouldn't have apologized it was the girl's fault.
I will not get angry over an accident. He clearly stated in his mind, forcing Levan back. There was no way he could make a scene now, there were too many people, something both Logan and Levan agreed with albeit for different reasons. After all, just because he lived in an insane asylum didn't mean everyone had to know that.
