The bell rings and students fill the hallways of the "school" in district 12. I look at my teacher, who has gone over the allotted time period, and sigh. My class is the only one that goes overtime and I hate it. Thank God it's Friday. My muscles are tensed, ready to spring towards the door when she says, "There will be no school on Monday because of an important announcement." My sea green eyes move until they are fixated upon the teacher. It takes all of my will not to shout in triumph.
She dismisses us and I am the first one out the door, breathing in the fresh air of the district. My knife is calling to me as I sprint towards my home, anticipation of another full day of hunting in store, when I notice something very unusual. Everything is quiet. No kids are to be seen laughing and playing as they usually are. All of the shutters are closed on my street. Something's wrong. I think as I enter my house.
The sight that greets me isn't pretty. Pots are fragmented all over the ground. Tables are tipped or broken. A window in the back is smashed. This and more greets my eyes as I enter the house. I slowly walk over to where I have hidden my knife and release the catch. I secure the sheath to my thigh and stick the seven inch knife inside. Then I hear glass breaking in the kitchen. The blade is in my hand in an instant as I move towards the sound. I make it to the kitchen and open the door as silently as I can to see a...peacekeeper? I clear my throat, telling him of my presence.
((ooc: There...you happy now?))
