Name: Clarity Everly
Age: Fourteen
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Clarity has a petite build, standing at 5'3 and weighing a measly 84 lbs. This is due to her diet, which includes very little fatty foods - or very little food at all. As she is from District Eleven, she has little food to eat, and so is what could be described as 'stick thin.' Her skin is a golden brown and gets lighter in the Winter, though would never be considered pale. She finds this is often to her advantage, as she never burns, even in large amounts of heat - though she does tend to freckle slightly, a few dark brown dots on her cheeks and under her eyes, and occasionally on her arms and legs also. As she is fourteen, she has started to get acne, which mostly breaks out on her forehead, just along her hair line. Though she would prefer to have no acne, she finds it very handy to have it in such a position, as her fringe covers most of it, at least on the right side. On the left side, her acne is clearly exposed, as well as the occasional black head or spot she gets on her chin or nose.
Her hair is a dark brown colour, and hangs in thin waves down her shoulders and back, finishing just below her chest. Her hair is styled in such a way that there is no need to brush it thoroughly, though this could easily be just because everyone she knows is used to her scruffy looking hair. She has a side fringe that swoops from left to right, and though she does think it suits her, she often finds it annoying, as she has to cut it every few weeks with a kitchen knife. This also means her hair is far from perfect, often ending up being rather uneven and choppy looking. She usually keeps it down, though will sometimes tie it in a quick ponytail to keep it out of the way.
She has a heart shaped face, defined by her pointed chin and hair line. Her eyes are a hazel colour - a mixture of green and brown - and are framed by thin eyebrows and long, dark eyelashes. Her nose is what could be described as 'a button,' as just like the rest of her, it is smaller than that of average and her nostrils tend to flare when she is trying to hold back tears. She has clearly defined cheek bones, probably also from the lack of food in her diet. Her lips are small and chapped from her habit of licking and biting them when she is nervous. She has small, pointy ears, which have commonly been called 'elf ears' due to their likeness. Her cheeks are mildly rosy and dimples form when she grins, showing her white, yet crooked teeth.
Another identifying feature is the small, almost invisible scar on her forehead. This appeared when she was nine, her second time cutting her fringe without her mother's help. All she did was drift off for one second, and there was a wound on her forehead. She has small, dainty hands and fingers with short nails, as she bites them. Her shoe size is five, though her toes curl in slightly due to wearing shoes too small for her.[/blockquote]Personality:
Clarity is, at first, quite shy. This is in the sense that she is not one to speak unless spoken to and when giving her opinions will not elaborate much. However, people soon find out this is just around strangers because as soon as she feels comfortable around you she returns to her normal, chirpy self. She is a sweet child with good intentions mostly, though can sometimes be a bit greedy. However, when it comes to life threatening situations, she is fiercely loyal, so much it's bad for her. This is the part where you all start screaming, "Being nice isn't a weakness, nyah!"[/color] Well, sorry to disappoint, because Clarity views it as such, simply because once she has saved this friend of hers, she will probably die, and therefore get no benefit from saving her friend. It's pure instinct that makes her go to help those she loves, and if she was thinking straight, she would probably leave them behind, though I suppose that depends who she is saving.
She is witty and bright, though not in subjects involving school. When it comes to school work, she is a failure in everything but English. Outside of school, when she is using her assumption skills, she finds herself much more comfortable. Her intelligence also shows when she is speaking, as she often speaks long words that leave others baffled, and come up with sarcastic remarks within seconds. She is very good at telling people a convincing lie, as she won't panic and will make everything seem normal, though she does tend to struggle to come up with convincing lies on the spot. She likes to have a few lies planned if she is doing something she shouldn't be doing, just in case she gets caught.
However, she rarely needs to use these lies, simply because Clarity is the opposite of a 'rebel.' Rarely one to be seen leaving a piece of homework undone, the only time Clarity will do something she shouldn't do is if it has to be done. This isn't because she feels it is immoral, this is simply her acting cowardly. Two of Clarity's biggest fears are pain and punishment. This is also a reason it would be very interesting to see how she would react to the Hunger Games, or very boring, as she may be killed very early on. She would probably either go crazy and start screaming and running towards the Cornucopia, or have some sense and run away, eventually dying of starvation or thirst.
Clarity rightfully earns the title of 'coward' due to her outstanding amount of fears, even if some of them or completely irrational, so much that you will probably avoid her after knowing. Well, hopefully not that terrible, but still. Her first two fears have been mentioned before, punishment and pain, and as far as she can tell, these two go hand in hand. Even the Hunger Games was designed to be punishment for the Dark Days. Another few of her fears include complete silence, maniacal laughter and creepy grins. Though by complete silence, she means complete silence - not a movement, not a breath, just silence. The next and final two are enclosed spaces and spiders - or Claustrophobia and Arachnophobia. In fairness, both of these are common fears, even if most spiders and enclosed spaces can't harm anyone.
Her talents include running, hiding, dancing, climbing and farming. Running is simply because she has a brother, and having no strength what so ever, she had to find some way to get away from the eager to attack child. Hiding is because of her size, as it is much easier for her to hide under things or behind them, as well as being able to get in tight spaces. Dancing had always been a hobby of hers, though she had no music to accompany it, so she would hum to herself. When her father found out, he got upset, though Clarity didn't understand why. She only dances and hums when alone, now. As for climbing and farming, well, she grew up in District 11.[/blockquote]History:
Clarity Rosa Joanne Everly was born to Dianne and Tobiah Everly fourteen years ago, and for three sweet years she was an only child. These are three years she doesn't remember, except for her parents coming in with a piece on bread carved in the shape of the number two and singing 'Happy Birthday.' However, after three years on this earth, along came another baby boy, Ervin Everly. He soon showed that he was the opposite of his weak, scrawny sister, with muscles by the age of six. When they were younger, the two got mistaken as twins, until by the time Clarity was ten years old she was the little sister in everyone's' eyes, though this was no surprise. Clarity had always been short for her age, where as the eleven year old Erwin could pass off as a fourteen year old with ease.
Since a young age, Clarity had to work for her supper, which included harvesting crops and picking apples from trees. Though this helped her gain some useful skills, she was still a weakling. Clarity didn't really mind. She wasn't one for violence anyway, and as long as she didn't get chosen for the Hunger Games, she would be fine. Of course, there is always the possibility, but the chances are not exactly high. There must be millions of paper slips, it's not very likely that her name will be drew.
As a little girl, she could often be seen spinning around her room, humming tunes that sounded nothing like music. One time, during the middle of her dancing, if you can even call it that, her father walked in. He gave her a sad look, before telling her that she shouldn't do that. The confused Clarity nodded her agreement, but not understanding what was so terrible, continued to dance when she was alone. It made her feel free, like a huge weight was lifted off her chest, Maybe it was because it was one of the only things she could do well - as Clarity is very clumsy.[/blockquote]Codeword: odair
