"As I sing a little song, and the song sings back to me, I feel the love from the song, and the lyrics set me free, As I sing a little song and the song sings back to me, IIIIIII sing a little song and the music sets me free."
It doesn't take long for the Mockingjay's the take up my fathers song. They match the pitches of G and A Flat perfectly, hitting every note with ease in their high tune voice. I think of when my father thought me that song, when I turned 5, and I loved it, I would sing it to the Mockingjay's every day.
But of course everything ends and my mother got angry when I sang, because she could never sing, and hearing my voice killed her on the inside. Well, I miss singing, so every once and a while, my father and I come out to this Meadow, and sing, but today, it is just me.
I love hearing the voice of the Mockingjay's, so I sing another.
"The voice inside my head goes tick tock tick tock the voice inside my head says baby sing! The voice inside my head says just an hour, just a minute, until I see you again! Oh the voice inside my head is just a flower, just a clock, ticking away the days until our lips lock, the voice inside my head says just wait, until the date the voice inside my head just says to sing!"
That one is one of my personal favorites. I taught myself that one, when I heard my father sing it, and I memorized the song.
There are no disturbances in the air now, just a soft wind that whispers,"sing, Clove, sing", inspiring me to release the sweet sound from my throat. It seems like the grass and the flowers sway to the beat of each song that I sing, changing every time.
I wonder, if someone hears me, if someone likes hearing me sing, if someone is watching me right now, hoping I sing again, but I stop for a minute, and listen to the Mockingjay's pick up my tune.
"Until I see you again. . . ."
