The girl wiped the back of her hand across her face, succeeding only in smearing more factory grime on herself, before adjusting her gloves (old, much like her coat, and torn in some places, with the fingers missing entirely), and setting off down the dim lit street.

Leuce's mauve eyes flitted uncomfortably in the dim light of the main street. A problem easily solved by turning down into a little side ally, between two shops... the long--and far more desolate-- way home. She much preferred it to walking back with the other factory workers.

Even in a dark ally, she didn't look out of place in the least. Everything in District Three was covered in a layer of grime-- residue from the factories. Even the sky was almost perpetually grey, polluted by smoke. Of course, she would have to go scrub herself before going to the square tonight-- mother would never approve of her going to the viewing of the Hunger Games looking the way she was now.

The high boots she wore made little sound as Leuce maneuvered between homes, the backs of shops, and piles of rubbish. Pushing thoughts of the games from her mind-- certainly something she didn't want to think about, though it really was a blessing she managed another year without being chosen-- she sighed and tried to relax. She realized then how weary she felt...sleep. That would be nice.

But that was still a long way off.
