Kye rarely sought out work. Work normally sought her out. She was reasonably well-known as an assassin; had done jobs throughout all the Districts. As a Wanderer, she was open for hiring in every District. You only had to find a way to contact her.
Recently, however, business was scarce. Last job she'd had, she had failed to get out of the building in time, and was very nearly captured by the law. Inconvenient, because now everyone seemed to think she wasn't a good assassin. Idiotic, how one's glowing reputation is ruined by a very small mistake that was corrected anyway.
The fact that she was in the District had spread through the underworld. Gangs most likely knew she was here. The Untouchables and the Prestige were the most important, but there was always Fringe. Normally, she would count in the Uprising as well, but her cousin, Ran Fan, was now their professional assassin. It made Kye feel both annoyed and a bit proud.
She sat in an abandoned warehouse, awaiting a possible client. If it was worth it, she'd probably take the job. She hoped that there would be no bloodshed, however, after hearing out Mr. Miller and his little run-in with Jason Black, she'd come prepared. She has several small throwing daggers, made of hard plastic so as not to set off metal detectors, hidden throughout her person, easily reachable. In addition, the diamond star necklace about her neck was a throwing star. She was dressed to impress, but also to fight. The Chinese style dress, a red body-hugging cheongsam, was slit up to her thigh in case she needed to use her legs. While running in heels would be tough for most, for her, it would be a cake walk; a childhood in a circus would do that for you. The steel needles holding her bun into place were actually razor sharp stilettos.
She felt confidant that she was ready for anything. Now all there was to do was wait.
